Optimus Prime has always believed in the ideals of justice, honor, and peace, even to those who would gladly see him dead. When Cybertron's greatest enemy is cast down before him, broken and defeated, Optimus makes a choice only he would dare to make: to show compassion to the one who deserves it least.
It is a decision that will cost him everything.
To show mercy in a world ruled by fear is to be seen not as noble, but as dangerous. To see something worthy of kindness and dignity in the one he was taught to hate is an unforgivable crime. As the walls of blind obedience close in and the fires of rebellion stir, Optimus must face a truth long buried. Sometimes, it is not hatred that makes a rebel. Sometimes, it is hope.

Starscream recently left the ranks of the Decepticons. After his betrayal from Airachnid and his failure to join the Autobots, Starscream found himself as a rogue. He lived within the remnants of the Harbinger beginning to scrape by with the small fragments of energon he was able to collect. Today though….Today was different. Starscream awoke to the sounds of Spaceship engines. He sat upright in his berth as he ran outside and saw a ship landing near the Harbinger. He sees a strange bot exit the ship. Is he a new ally? A new enemy? Either way, Starscream's destiny is about to change.

7 million years ago, the latest blow to gender on Cybertron is dealt by the rising Functionist tide, stirring an Arcee struggling with loneliness and aesthetic dysphoria into enraged action to help bots in the Hadean System across the aesthetic spectrum save their transformative glory and stories… in the process, she finds aid from the scientist Jhiaxus, who also offers xem a new reformatting surgery to let her spark do shaping with CNA editing help. Thus begins a new chapter in her life as a founding member of the expansion of what would later be called the Anti-Vocation League alongside her beloved partner and fellow old person Codexa, while grappling with her own growing pile of pains and traumas. As the millennia carry on and she heads to space, xey eventually meets Anode and Lug in the stars, and some dear moments near the present all the way through to events after Transformers: Optimus Prime #25: Post… where she helps some gender expansive bots, and with help from Aileron and xeir pals she finally gets some answers and closure to xeir own self, and has a reckoning with forces pitted against her for millions of years. The years after are not what she expected during most of her life prior, and xey is glad for them…

After Arcee is damaged in battle by a stray shot and the Autobots are forced to retreat without her, leaving her completely at Flamewar's mercy, she fully expects that this is where her spark goes out for good. What she did not expect was to wake up to her Decepticon mirror repairing her instead...
With her rivalry with Flamewar on hold for unknown reasons, and forced to contend with being saved by the one bot she thought would kill her without hesitation, Arcee begins to wonder if the Autobots and Decepticons are really so different after all.
Why am I reacting like this? She's a Decepticon, I can't afford to let my guard down, I shouldn't be enjoying this situation... wait, I'm enjoying this? Oh Primus...

The jump to escape Quintessa lands The Lost Light and her crew halfway across the universe and farther from Cybertron than when they started. Rodimus Prime struggles with balancing his new leadership role and personal life leading to an outpouring of terrible decisions and near-death experiences for himself and everyone aboard, including those he loves most.
Still, they carry forward with as much enthusiasm as he can force with pep-talks, high-grade, and gold stars all while ignoring the massive target on their backs placed by Megatron.
Little does Rodimus know, Starscream has the young Prime in his vengeful sights as well.
