“You seriously can’t be considering it,” Percival said incredulously.
“Why not?” Merlin argued. “I’m happy to be Leon’s temporary servant. Although,” he turned to him, “just pretend it’s a permanent thing to Arthur.”

Arthur is still staring at the innkeeper like she’s sprouted antlers, mouth half-open in a mix of confusion and barely concealed alarm. He swallows hard, clearly trying to piece together a response. Merlin’s hand tightens helpfully on his shoulder to keep him from doing something stupid. Finally, voice cracking slightly, he manages: “Isn’t... isn’t magic outlawed?”
The woman shrugs, entirely unbothered. “Maybe where you’re from.”

Morgana smiled and Merlin smirked from his hiding place as he watched Arthur consider swooping in to save the man, but clearly thinking better of it.

He said and Merlin dropped the plate of food he was carrying. "...I hate you." He sighed, staring at his food bouncing on the ground with a loud clatter. "I should hire your mother as my servant. She wouldn't drop my food." He added with a fierce nod.
"My mother is here?" He asked and Arthur paused.
"You haven’t seen her?"
"No. Fuck. It’s finally happening." He whispered. Arthur stared, absolutely baffled. "She’s come to kill me." He explained and dashed towards the door to peer outside.
"What?" Arthur snorted. "Merlin. Your mother can be very firm, but she’s not the killing type. She is too softhearted for such things." He said and Merlin slammed the door shut, leaning against the wood as if barricading it.
"If you're not careful you'll be next."

Arthur closed his eyes, expression riddled with irritation before turning to look at Merlin expectantly.
"Know what?"
“The mare I use. You know I call her Daisy? I never told you that." Merlin explained. Arthur stared for a few moments. He could see the flicker of emotions pass easily over him. Anger, annoyance, exasperation, indignance, and finally acceptance...AKA the Five Stages of Grief (Pendragon Edition).
"You talk to the horse.” He pointed out. Merlin narrowed his eyes.
“I whisper to the horse."
"...am I supposed to not hear it?” Arthur asked. Merlin wondered how likely it would be that he also heard him whispering magical spells if he heard him murmuring to the bloody horse. “Also, only you would choose such a ridiculous name.” He muttered. Merlin swallowed. This wasn't a problem at all, right? Right.

Merlin knows Arthur well. Better than he knew himself apparently. What he hadn't expected was for Arthur to know his servant just as well... This causes problems. (also known as "The Time Merlin Had a Mental Breakdown Over Arthur Being a Normal Human")

Merlin was inclined to tell Arthur to bugger off himself, but was immediately distracted by one word.
“Emmy?” He repeated and smiled. “You did name him.”

This starts dark and harsh just a warning but there will be happiness coming...please pay attention to the tags and rating don't want to cause triggers...This does not start out pretty, and I'm actually surprised by what I'm writing, there is a reason for the tags and the rating.

A few days before his 17th birthday Dudley takes steps to save his Omega cousin from being sold off by his parents. In this story Dudley is good while his parents are anything but.
In a world of Nulls, Sentinels, and Guides there are also those that present as Alpha or Omega with the remaining considered Beta's. Even men can be Omegas and it is discovered at birth for them, though in the entering of puberty is what shows for a female. As for Alpha's females can be one as well. Omega Males are Dual natured and are able to get pregnant.
