Summary
Keith never talked about their family. Though Pidge seemed to have an idea on why, based on what Matt has said, and Hunk and Lance can guess; from James Griffin’s comments in their first year, to the way that they’re so defensive and struggle to call them all family.
...
But perhaps only Shiro realized how truly lonely they were on Earth until the team actually came back. Unlike Pidge and Lance who had family waiting for them with open arms, even unlike Hunk whose family had been taken, Keith and Shiro had no one waiting for them. And even then, Shiro had the Garrison staff waiting for him. Even the princess had family after all these years.

James, who has just finished with everything in his buggie and has finally climbed from it, meets their eyes and mutters ‘later’ when he notices Keith looking ready to approach.

One can sometimes hear Pidge’s tinkering coming from the green lion’s hangar or the clash of metal against metal in the training room as Keith puts all their energy into whatever training session they’re on right now.
And tonight is one of those nights, where Keith and Pidge are both awake working on their own things.

“How was the mission love?” Keith asks, watching their boyfriend drape his jacket over the back of the reading chair. James hums and just wanders over to where Keith is sitting on the bed, sharpening his knife. “Love?”
James grumbles then pulls his face out of his lover’s stomach, “It was just tiring.”

The two of them jump apart, but clearly not fast enough because Shiro cuts himself off, “Hey Keith, Kolivan and Kro- wh- Keith?”

It seems that Shiro is also excited to have him back, though he also seems dismayed at their lack of being able to find Sam, though that’s neither here nor there right now.
Simply because right now, Pidge is searching through Matt’s room like the little rat that she is in order to see if she can find any dirt on her brother that has built up over their years of separation; he’s stopped being affected by what she had on him before, something about him having more issues that are more pressing to him than petty blackmail she picked up on years before he was shot into space.

Pidge looks through Matt's things and finds something she thinks she can get some good blackmail on and at first, she's found a gold mine. But for what cost?Series

Summary
There isn’t a lot that the team knows about Keith, and that’s how they want it. They’ve kept information from their companions, things that they don’t want or don’t care for the others to know, but there are also just things that haven’t come up in conversation or weren’t important enough to mention.
One of those things being Keith’s love for theater, specifically musical theater. They had a foster mom that absolutely adored musicals. She had all of her favourites on vinyl records that she’d play anytime she was doing something she could listen to music with. She wore all sorts of things and had sat Keith down and had them watch Phantom of the Opera and Rent when they told her they didn’t know anything about musicals.

A familiar, not-quite-monotone answers, calm and a bit raspy, “Hey, this is Keith.”
“What’s up Keith?” Matt asks.
“I’m just finishing up with mom and Acxa, I’m heading back to Earth right now. Give me like an hour to get back to the apartment, change, and head over. I need to feed Kosmo as well.”

Shiro, bless him, decides to take pity on them, “They’re talking about the way you’re dressed, Keith.”
