After Gordon escapes from Black Mesa East, by Combine raid. He walks for two hours in a long man-made cave path, which leads him to the seemingly abandoned town of Ravenholm, as Alyx warns him about that place.
However… Alyx never believed or kind of told Gordon that most of the town is covered in a candy-like latex substance, which itself changes the environment; smells sweet; and instead of zombies, we have hundreds of humanoid beings that resemble superbly deformed big-size cartoony anthro-animals based on advertisements, all wearing generic yet occult-based robes or worn-out citizen clothing.
He must now find a way to leave this place, with potential company to make Gordon less lonely.

“Well yeah,” Red huffs, crossing his arms. Freeman swears he hears a “duh” thrown in for extra effect, but that might just be in his head. “You’re both either clones sent to kill me or alternate versions of myself, also sent to kill me.”
He punctuates it with a shrug, accompanied by a challenging look. Yellow in fact challenges it, with an impressively disappointed facepalm that sounds like it hurt as much to do as it was to witness. He can feel his parents guilting him for going across the country for college all over again. “Okay! Okay. Why are— Why do all the options include your murder, exactly?”
Freeman nods along with that completely valid question, pretending that the thought of his own murder had not been the first thing to cross his mind when meeting the duplicates. Red sends him a dirty glare, like he knows the truth. Whether or not it’s just some sort of inherent instinct that comes with being the same person, or if he’s randomly got the ability to read minds is anyone’s guess.
Imagine that, versions of him with superpowers.
OR
Gordon Freeman meets himself. Ten times, in fact. Now he's not sure what's more likely to kill him; the end of the world or these maniacs.
