When the Knothole Freedom Fighters responds to an S.O.S to investigate suspicious activity located near a relay station and encounter the Destructix, they assumed that Scourge's gang was the threat to the relay station's safety. They would be mistaken for they are all under threat by an entity calling themselves the Gamester. As both groups quickly learn, they are merely unwilling players in a dangerous game of life or death hosted by the unknown foe and the cost of failure is their own lives.
Union between uneasy allies will be crucial, cooperation between enemies will be vital and teamwork between people on opposite sides will be essential...

Summary
It's been 20 years since Sonic, supposedly, died. 20 years since the start of Eggman's conquering of the world, which he had successfully done so.
Shadow, whose still grieving, continues to try and fulfill the promise he made to his deceased lover, bunkered up in a secret base the young fox, Tails had created to house the resistance.
It is up to Shadow, Tails, Knuckles and the rest of the gang to intrude Eggman's base and begin the end of his reign. Still, before they can do so, they will face many questions, suprises and mysteries on their way to that goal. -

Everyone knows the story, the echidnas tried to seize the power of the Master Emerald and brought the fury of Chaos, the God of Destruction and the ancient Guardian of the Emeralds. But... is there more to this story? How did they get the chaos emeralds? Why is Knuckles the last one? More importantly, why do sonic and amy seem to be the last hedgehogs? Did the hedgehogs have something to do with the disappearance of the echidnas?
This is a rewrite of the game's canon made from scratch with my own ideas and some from the franchise as a whole. In the future I plan to rewrite the entire Sonic saga and this will be the first piece. It's my first job in this fandom, bear with me. Constructive criticism is accepted.
