Thomas is a history major with a very specific interest in the political history of the papal state. He is also extremely sleep deprived and it has been too long since he has felt anything. In a moment of desperation Thomas finds himself in the back of the local church on a saturday night.
Vincent is a young social worker with a lot of love to give, but no one to call his own yet, but trusting God to guide him.
Aldo and Geffredo have declared themselves arch rivals, even if their not in the same major... Guilio finds it suspicious.
Ray, Willi and Agnes meet every saturday night to watch movies, talk trash and get high.

Summary
Finally, they arrive at the homily. Benítez is much briefer than his predecessor. And yet, his speech feels fuller, somehow. He pins them all under the darkness of his gaze. When his eyes land on Aldo, he feels as if Benítez has stripped him bare, that he can see the horrible, green monster that writhes beneath his breast. He speaks of love and light, a desire to move them forward into the future while paying homage to the past. Aldo feels trapped in that damned vote, watching the world crumble under his feet.
The morning after Vincent Benítez is elected Pope Innocent XIV, Aldo Bellini attends morning mass. He tries to grapple with the scale of everything he's lost to Benítez: his role as Secretary of State, the Papacy, and Thomas Lawrence.
Or, the one where Aldo is still sore about the conclave, and he has to navigate his new place in the Curia while trying to sort out his feelings for Thomas and Vincent. They all have feelings about this, separately, and then together.

“No,” Thomas grabbed the railing. “That’s insane.”
That idea of the dicastery wasn’t new. The late Holy Father came with it, but even he deemed it too much. Too radical. It would cause too much backlash and problems.
Thomas had to ask. To be sure he understood it, “We’re talking about an in-depth investigation of corruption through the whole church, right?”*
Vincent, Ray, Giulio and Willy starts a revolution in the Church. Thomas goes to live on a farm where he learns about feelings and electronics. Aldo has one long neverending bad day. -

Summary
She gathers her work bag, tucks in her charger and phone before grabbing the keycard just to make sure she hadn’t forgotten it. It hasn’t happened to her but it has happened to Wilhelm, and lucky for him, she had her keycard on her just as he did a quick mad dash for the paperwork he accidentally left behind.
With one quick sweep of the room, especially to the big lug still blissfully asleep in their bed, she begins to leave…
…but not without a final kiss to Wilhelm’s forehead, because of course, why not. And, just when she thought she was in the clear, she heard him grumble: “...mmmrgh, bye, Lillith…”
A huff of amusement leaves her nose as she whispers back, “Bye-bye, Wilhelm.”
or: A typical day for Sister Lillith, who is working hard as per usual, especially if it keeps her busy from one teeny tiny thing that she can't really say yet.
