A light frost covered the surface except where Damian had pressed his glove to the glass and wiped it away, taking all of Damian’s thoughts away with it, his mind emptying as his view cleared.

Damian shakes his head, closes his eyes, forces himself to not rip his domino from his skin to check once more if what is in front of him is real. It can’t be real. It can’t.
Damian opens his eyes and it’s still him. Still Jonathan. Except he is not the Jonathan Damian saw last, laughing in the sunlight at a tailgate party, his arm wrapped around his long term boyfriend Jay. That Jonathan was four years older than Damian, on the cusp of graduating with a degree whereas Damian would only be starting his first.
Except there is a Jonathan in the case in front of him, looking two years younger than Damian, his hair still as curly and unruly as Damian can remember it being when Jonathan was eleven and following Damian around making promises of forever.

A mission goes awry when Damian finds a second, younger Jonathan Kent and rescues him, bringing both the Kent and Wayne families together as they attempt to cope with this new development.

Things are finally sort of going Sam's way. He's got his team together. The public is slowly warming up to the idea of the Avengers being back, and him being the right Captain America to lead it. His personal life is nonexistent and he's fucking tired but hey all that hard work has paid off and it feels good! Worth it!
It would be perfect if it weren't for Bucky and his edgy team currently doing tricks for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and having their New Avengers image slapped onto every box of Wheaties. Every phone call with the man he called his friend and partner has just led to a frustrating game of accusations, confusion, and endless circular arguments. Sam doesn't get it or understand why it feels like Bucky is hiding something from him. And it hurts more than he expects.
However, when a mission goes wrong, it puts him and Joaquin directly in the crosshairs of the Serpents. And the only place they can hide is with the very group of people they're supposed to be feuding with.

Of all the people on earth that Daniel would ever guess to be on the other side of a text like that? Alice is at the bottom of the list. She walked out on them, leaving a little girl alone with her junkie dad who didn't know how to cope without the love of his life. Why would it be her? That'd be insane.
(But of course, Armand knows he is insane. He has always been insane with the extremes to which he will go for the ones he loves. Daniel simply cannot recall that detail or so many others about their relationship. At least, not at the moment.)

A college AU as serious as college students, where we start out with Armand/Louis and things degrade quickly once Louis comes to know Lestat.
Armand writes a line note, and as he does, Louis falls into the seat beside him. Armand's gaze flicks over to him instinctively, absorbing his boyfriend in with his eyes for a moment too long, then they finish the scene onstage and Lestat calls down to Armand, his Parisian accent back in place. "Is that sufficient?"
Louis's mouth turns up slightly at the corner, and Armand tears his gaze away to look at Lestat and Celeste, their Harper Pitt. "More than," he says. "A few notes." He tangles his fingers with Louis's and goes through his notes, watching Lestat sneer the way he always does when he feels challenged. Armand knows Lestat – a university vagrant with more money than sense, who spent one semester in a dorm with Armand and two nights in his bed before deciding that he was more interested in a rock and roll lifestyle.
How quaint.

"But my favorite moment," Thompson said, raising his glass, "was back in '78. We're in the middle of the layout for the December issue, everyone's stressed, deadline breathing down our necks. And in walks this Indian guy, no shoes, British accent thick as molasses, striding in like he owned the place, carrying a blender of all things."
Daniel chuckled, having heard this story at least a dozen times over the years. He had no actual memory of the event, but it had become such a staple of newsroom lore that he'd even considered including it in his memoir.
"He marches straight up to Daniel's desk," Thompson continued, "perfectly poised, like walking barefoot into a newsroom with kitchen appliances was the most natural thing in the world, and says 'What is this?'" The professor affected a posh British accent that made the younger faculty members snicker.
"And Daniel, cool as ice, doesn't even look up from his typewriter. Just says, 'That's a blender, man.'"

“Ah,” Rashid says, catching his mistake. He sets the bottle down, and then offers his arm. “This is something you’ll have to cover anyway, right?”
Sam stares at Rashid’s wrist, his eyes owlishly inhuman again. “I’m,” he tries, licking his lips, both fangs exposed. “I’m sorry, but what are you…”
“I’m not stupid,” Rashid says. “If Armand’s companion is as much of a hothead as Raglan implies he is, then here’s a chance I’ll get bitten on the job. That’s likely what will have happened when a vacancy finally crops up, yeah? The turnover isn't too high, but when there is turnover…” He shrugs, lifting his wrist a fraction closer to Sam’s parted lips. “You can’t convince me you don’t have vampire agents bite human agents on the regular so they know what to expect. Tell me that, as my trainer, you wouldn’t be the one to do it. Tell me I’m wrong.”
Sam sucks in a shuddering breath, his hungry eyes fixed on Rashid’s. “Oh, darlin’. You’re not.”

Or, I wrote a silly little Rarry one-shot the other night and then spent twelve hours vomiting this onto the page. I changed some things, kept a couple characters alive, killed Percy, made it an actual slow-burn, and decide to torture Ron because I love him...
