Summary
Noelle Holiday is entering her final year of High School. It's been four years since her sister's death. She's on her way to the fanciest college her parents can get her into, to get a degree in...something. Her father's in the hospital. She can't stop letting people talk over her. And finally, Noelle is hopelessly in love with another girl, and it's only a matter of time until her mother finds out.
Susie Sauria is entering her final year of High School. Susie knows that she's never going to be able to make anything of her life. She has one (1) friend, and is reasonably sure they'd ditch her if given the chance. She's teetering on the poverty line. Her father's a jackass. She wants to move out, but that would require her to have a place to go afterwards. And finally, Susie is stuck getting tutored by the smartest girl in her class, and it's only a matter of time until that too falls apart.
At the moment, they couldn't be more different. But through heartache and hardship, they'll find themselves inexorably drawn together. A lot can happen in one school year, and this is one that they're sure to never forget.

Though she is convinced of this truth, her best friend Rinor and brother Yarlen have taken it upon themselves to show her otherwise. When they find her searching for scandal, they go all in. There's a famous nightclub in the Old Faith district, an unholy show scheduled, and plenty of stars in the night to defy.
Rinor and Yarlen made their intentions clear; they're painting the town red, whether Jalala's ready to or not.
