Tomioka wishes he had been closer, wishes he would’ve been able to help when Uppermoon 6 and Tengen were fighting, but he wasn’t. When the crow had called any nearby Hashira to aid him, he knew no one was going to be able to make it quick enough. He was at the Red Light District for god's sake!
So all he could do was pray, pray that Tengen Uzui had made it out ok. That he wouldn’t end up like the deceased flame pillar.
“Tengen Uzui, along with other slayers as aid, have defeated Uppermoon 6!”
It was sufficient to say that he had almost broke down on the spot.

At the age of 9, Bruce Wayne's parents die from a criminal and vampire bounty hunter, Joe Chill. To make some extra cash, Joe was trying to kill only Thomas Wayne. Gotham's most prolific vampire at the time, with a gun that fired a silver bullet. However, Martha jumped in front of Thomas to save her husband, and they both die that faithful night in crime alley. Leaving a very human looking Bruce Wayne traumatized. Joe Chill ran away, distraught from the fact he killed an innocent woman, in front of a child no less.
This Trauma causes Bruce to get his fangs. And a human Alfred Pennyworth tried his best to raise this poor dhampir. Teaching him the value of mercy and to not ever lose sight of his humanity.
When Bruce becomes Batman to fight crime and kill only the worst of vampires, he meets the ultimate evil vampire. The Demon of Gotham, later to be known as Joker.
But due to Bruce's ignorance of his vampiric side, instinct leads him down a dark path of turmoil from his developing feelings for Gotham's biggest monster.
Will Bruce ever come to terms with his darkest self?

Since Steppenwolf – hell, since Clark - things have felt a little off-kilter. Alfred says it's to be expected, that it might take a little while to process.
Bruce has never been great at processing.
If pressed, he’d say that’s why he’s taken up fucking Lex again. It’s a way of pretending nothing’s changed, that this is still the most dangerous game he’s playing. That if he squeezes his eyes shut tightly enough, fucks Lex hard enough, they can go backwards. Make things simpler again.
