Summary
Theater AU is an amalgamation of my love of vocal synths and mental health. Both vent fic and just having fun here.
The main premise is vocal synths of all types and places exist in a space of sorts. Imagination, the computer, it doesn’t matter. But Eleanor Forte holds a theater for more story driven talkloids. Everyone is self aware they’re vocal synths and sometimes real life matters and songs mess with their heads.
Nothing is ever static in Theater AU. The collective consciousness, us, the real life people who make songs and other works of art, change it all daily. This is only a small glimpse into the bigger picture.
You just gotta go with the flow of life.

What Nezuko doesn't get to choose: being a human or being a demon. Getting to think clearly or getting to remember her recent adventures. Panicking over waking up in the woods with no memory of how she got there or waking up in the woods with no memory of how she got there but a bone-deep certainty that nothing is amiss.
What Nezuko gets to choose: gentleness. Restraint. Trust. To live.
Somewhere before the Entertainment District arc, Nezuko wakes up thinking clearly for the first time since becoming a demon, with no memory of how she got there. She should be terrified. She's not, and that's worse.

Hakuji was always able to see souls. Every person was unique; no two souls were ever exactly the same. Koyuki's soul echoed the fireworks that she loved watching so much, sounding exactly the same as the ones their village set off every New Year.
Akaza couldn't explain why this woman felt so familiar. He heard the whistling pops of fireworks in her battle spirit and was drawn in like a moth to the flame, helpless to resist. Akaza didn't mind being burned if it was by her.
He was not the one to burn.
Akaza knew exactly why the next human felt familiar. And the one after that. And the one after that.
Fate was a cruel mistress sometimes.

A reincarnation AU where Koyuki was so determined to save Akaza from himself that, instead of watching over him as a spirit, she was reborn. Over and over, every time that she died, she came back. She didn't account for how badly her repeated deaths would affect Akaza, though.
He was a broken man by the time she was reborn as Kyojuro Rengoku.
