Her face heats, but when she glances upwards, she finds Ryuunosuke is faring no better. Its cheeks are pink and it is refusing to look directly at her.
She cups its hands in hers, then exhales warm air against its palms.
And when Ryuunosuke, in turn, offers her a cautious smile, she feels her own chest warm as well.

The tides are currently low, waves sweeping past the shoreline gently, caressing their ankles when they enter. Kuroo wades into the water until it reaches his hips before glancing back, where Daichi is watching him.
"It's cold," he says, bending down so the water washes over his entire body. The sand slides off easily as he resurfaces, and he sighs as a refreshing breeze hits his skin, cooling him down.
Daichi's expression gives nothing away as he creeps closer. He stops just a few steps away from Kuroo, looking up at him, and Kuroo stiffens in anticipation.
Daichi begins squatting down, hands dipping into the water. Kuroo's eyes follow the movement as he warily takes a step back, and Daichi's lips split into a wide grin and—
Splash!
Kuroo coughs in surprise, water droplets running down his face and dripping from his hair. Daichi bursts out laughing, slapping his thighs in delight. "Got you."

“Stop,” Chuuya gripes, “god, you’re so fucking annoying, can’t you just listen to me and be still for five goddamn seconds?”
“Ew,” Dazai says, like Chuuya has asked him to do something reprehensible like believe in love or that he is worthy of forgiveness or the concept of tenderness without bite.
“Just—” Chuuya hisses as Dazai wriggles purposefully, the look on his face he gets when he knows he’s annoyed Chuuya nearly to breaking and wants to see him break, “fucking be good for me for five seconds. Be good.” Chuuya grips Dazai’s jaw hard as speaks, hard enough to bruise. He uses the voice he uses when he’s working, when people need to listen and they need to do it now.
He’s surprised when Dazai goes still underneath him.
Chuuya looks down at Dazai who is blinking up at him slowly, seemingly dazed. His fingers twitch where he had been idly playing with the hem of Chuuya’s shirt. Chuuya tilts his head and waits for Dazai to say something and Dazai says nothing at all.
Chuuya is fascinated.
“Dazai?” He whispers.

All at once, the water drains and all their energy goes with it, leaving Chuuya to collapse. The screen vanishes and Chuuya is met with a biting, harsh wind. Noisy vehicles, shouting, sobbing, camera flashes… it beats their head to a pulp, but they’re so weak that all they can do is groan and close their eyes.
Something soft and smelly cushions Chuuya’s head. Something warm holds their hand, short, choppy nails run up and down their knuckles. It’s the only thing tethering them to the world
