“I heard you.” His father’s voice was ragged. “Twice.”
Percy looked up at him in surprise. His eyes locked on to the man before him. Hurt that he didn’t know he could feel, not in such intensity, bloomed in Percy’s chest.
“You ignored me?” Percy said angrier then he intended the words to come out.
“No.”
“No?” Percy stood up and rounded on him. The smoldering ruins of his second home curled into the sky behind Poseidon. “Then tell me where were you?” -

Dick’s eyes snapped back to the lawyer as she continued “Forgive me for not taking your word. You have a track record of vendettas against your training officers and accusing them of misconduct, Mr. Grayson.”
“It’s Officer Grayson actually... I was shot twice by a man I trusted. He then walked over to me and took my duty belt, and camera. I couldn’t hit record for the backlog. I was lying in a pool of my own blood. I was left there to die.”
Bruce sucked in a breath from where he sat in the gallery. Dick hated that he was here, listening to this. It was almost shameful to have to air the gory details–blood trails, mistakes and all. But he had vowed. He would tell the whole truth, and nothing but.
Dick testifies after being shot on the job. Dick just wants it over with, how do you face the man you trusted after he put two rounds in your chest? But the only way out is through and the only way through is armed with the truth.

Summary
Dick screamed so violently he thought his throat would tear from the force of it. He threw his body against the walls and pounded his fists on the door. He raged in every way he could think of. Throwing chairs against the wall, banging metal pipes against metal floors. Were it not for the telltale drip of the water tapping a pitter-patter beat as it fell from the built-up condensation on the ceiling, he would think he had been struck deaf.
After what seemed like an age, but he knew in reality had only been minutes, he slumped against the door and gave up attempting his racket. The curse hadn’t just taken his voice and his ability to communicate through comms; it had taken every form of sound from him.

Summary
Bruce’s hand closed around yet another object. Bruce didn’t quite understand when he pulled it out. It was a rather small sneaker. The colors, once bright, were faded. Two velcro straps were bent and kinked into a twisted shape. There was lint on the velcro rendering it useless. Bruce had the vague memory of Dick picking the shoes out nearly a month after he’d first moved in. But Bruce felt that the memory couldn’t be true. They were surely too small.

A glass broke. Dick thought it might have been Donna’s. Wally was now speaking in his over fast hum that sounded more like the wings of a hummingbird rather than human speech. Roy was staring at Dick, a stony expression on his face. Garth was looking at the photograph, a confused twist in his mouth, making Dick feel sick.
Confusion was perhaps the only thing Dick wasn’t feeling.
Dick put down the newspaper and pushed his chair back away from the table. The scraping sound cut off Wally’s ramble. He couldn’t look at anyone else. He didn’t want to see the pity in their eyes– or worse still their indignation on his behalf.

“This… this would qualify as a mental breakdown, right?” Triton asked, frowning over his shoulder to where Percy was still fuming in the corner. The lady at the counter curiously glanced over before lifting a questioning brow. “My brother – half-brother, technically, I have much better breeding – decided to run away from home to where our father can’t reach him and now he won’t leave. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!”
Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy.
“I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory.
“Aha!”

Getting in trouble works a little differently when your parent is an all-powerful god. Sometimes you have to escape to the land beyond gods and get your immortal brother turned human to drag you back so you can be exploded a million pieces. You know, normal teenage stuff.

The Olympian gods have a history of making monumentally bad decisions and not learning from their mistakes. Of course that'll come back to bite them, and everyone seems to think Percy will be the one doing the biting. Thing is, he's tired and just wants to live a normal life. Too bad literally no one believes him except his friends, and now he has to survive the consequences of yet another one those monumentally bad decisions.

Tartarus nearly destroyed Percy the first time, in more ways than one. It's worse the second time. So much worse. And this time, he has no way out. He desperately clings to the one thing he knows without a doubt: 'I have to stay alive for when Annabeth comes for me'. Because she will.xXx
