“You said professor Han was nice,” Bobby points out, ignoring the rest of her rambling.
“Yeah, that was before the semester started.” And before she saw his rate my professor reviews. And before he assigned them a giant group project, and then stuck her in a group with Rumi, who just so happens to be so hot that Zoey can’t think straight when she’s around her.
Haha. Straight. Her brains laugh.
Shut the fuck up, she thinks back, furiously scribbling notes on her music sheet.

Then her middle range went too, and her low range.
She currently couldn’t get her voice to produce a single note.

Mira snapped out of her pancake nostalgia and turned to Rumi, “Wait you drank last night? But you never drink!”
“I mean… I don’t exactly remember drinking anything. All I remember is falling asleep, cuddling on the couch with you two and then I woke up in my room with a massive headache and a dry mouth. I must have had a lot because I didn’t even have my pajamas on when I woke up.” Rumi admitted. She used her fork to push her pancakes back and forth instead of eating them.

Rumi took a deep breath and pushed the door open. The sounds of a busy bar greeted her, and she took a few brave steps inside. Rumi wasn't usually much of a bar-goer, finding the general ambience to be very rowdy to the point it could be overwhelming.
But one of her friends had recommended she needed to celebrate 3 years post-surgery in style, and Rumi had agreed to it.
Then said friend had a work emergency, which meant Rumi was going to be celebrating alone.
Such was the way of life.
Or: Rumi's having a night out, and is being flirted on by Zoey and Mira, who don't recognize Rumi now that she transitioned.

Rumi’s mind wanders, desperate for a change of subject. Her gaze lands on the two women who’ve been repeatedly plaguing her mind ever since she saw them step out of the limousine. Mira grins and sips on her drink, listening intently to whatever Zoey’s saying, the shorter girl gesticulating her hands wildly in the air. An ache settles in Rumi’s sternum, and that thought, that possibility—the possibility that this show can actually work—rattles through her skull.
“Hey, Celine?” she starts, not looking away from the view ahead of her. “I know it’s unconventional, but can I give out two First Impression Roses?”
Celine considers her words and follows her gaze. She presses her lips into a thin line, then she shrugs in acceptance. “Sure. After all, you’re the Bachelorette.”

And that the Honmoon would remain.
Because the Honmoon was stronger than ever. It waxed as she waned.
And that was the thing, wasn't it.
