When Ethan was fourteen, his world went up in flames. When he was fourteen, he took his mother's gun and escaped the city with a wagon of other survivors who knew better than to betray their names or faces to the smiling people in uniforms who claimed to be aid workers. Summary
Stanley and Stanford haven’t seen each other in over a decade. No letters, no postcards, no (direct) phone calls, nothing had connected them over those ten years.
Stanford had become a scientist studying the strange and unusual in a tiny town in Oregon with the aid of his assistant and college roommate, Fiddleford. He was dedicated to making a scientific discovery that would change the world and often forgot to pull himself out long enough to talk to his own family. (He didn’t even know where his twin was, never mind how to contact him.)
Stanley… Stanley became a witch. A “Handyman for Hire” who traveled all over the country for his work. It wasn’t a glamorous lifestyle, but it was a comfortable one.
Neither of them expected to run into each other again. And certainly not because of Stan having the worst stroke of luck possible.

Every bond was intermingled, looped and knotted up in others. It made the connections murky, the limits hard to grasp. Unfairly proportioned, a gift to some, a curse to others.

Nobody at a hero bar like this would assume he was so young.
“How the fuck do you think that?” Chase asks, spits. His hands still shake with the memory of it. The beer in his hand shakes with the tremors of his hands. “How the fuck do you do it?”
Mechaman sighs, deep, disappointed. He leans back, taking his whiskey with him.
The rest of the Brave Brigade was downstairs, drinking in victory, dancing with the other heroes, celebrating.

Izuku Midoriya is the owner of a quirk long passed down through his family. Magic Star gives its user incredible abilities but it still longs to be kept a secret. A magical glittering rod and fluffy dress are easy enough to deal with when they let him live his dream of saving people.
Attending U.A. is a risk, even as a Gen Ed student, but he's confident he'll be fine even though one of his friends runs a Midori stan account and All Might is determined to take him under his wing. He's done a good job of keeping his secret up to now, so he'll be fine. He thinks.
It absolutely doesn't help that Todoroki Shouto seems close to figuring out the truth after a fleeting conversation in Hosu. But, as much as Izuku knows he shouldn't give Todoroki any chance to confirm his identity, fate seems to have other plans given their penchant for running into each other both at school and when he's on patrol.
