Summary
It had all started as a handful of missions that Lucy had brushed off as "off days." At first, it had just been Natsu getting distracted, Natsu getting a little more protective than usual, Natsu letting his fire linger a little too long before dismissing it.
Then it turned into something else. It turned into sleepless nights, short tempers, and a faraway glaze over his eyes like he was imagining how the Guildhall would look as a glorious pyre of fire. It turned into new wants and desires, new behaviors, and new challenges that the whole guild would have to overcome.
Oh, and there's also the fact that he looks at Lucy like she's the most precious treasure in his hoard. That was new, too. Lucy wasn't so sure how to feel about that one, yet.

There was nothing she could do as she stood and watched in pure horror as 10,000 Dragons entered Fiore, destroying everything in their path. She got separated from the others during the initial attack, but the lack of magic and prideful shouts that she knows Fairytail was capable of confirmed her doubts to be true.
Everyone was dead.
Lucy Heartfilia looked at the last remaining member, other than herself as she stood before the Eclipse Gate. Natsu was roaring, throwing and breathing fire everywhere as he desperately tried to protect what was left of his home.
They both knew it was futile, and they were left with no-choice. Lucy wiped her tears from her face and stared at the Gate before her defiantly.
She had to take the slim chance.
She had to go back.

All he remembers is going out for a drink after a long day, which was rare as he disliked alcohol, but after that, he remembers nothing. Well, waking up to a handsome man, both butt naked and sharing a bed made him remember every bit of what happened.
Unsure of what to do, he quickly dressed up and made himself look presentable enough before running out of the hotel room, straight back to his home, leaving the man back all alone in that hotel room.
He thought that would be over and that he’d never see him again.
Oh how wrong he was.
