You don’t have to, is what Zoro wants to say. I don’t want you to cry, ever. It hurts and I don’t know why.
“Whatever,” is what he says instead.
sanji's secrets are like his cigarettes—never-ending, conspicuous, and lingering long after they end. in moments of weakness, zoro tries to snuff them out.

In which Sanji stumbles into some realizations and then proceeds to enact a multi-step plan of subtle romance. Meanwhile, Zoro suspects the waiter is out to kill him.

Summary
An onslaught of medical jargon Sanji can’t make sense of continues from Chopper, but he’s able to make out the word “surgery,” which is enough to send a fresh wave of nausea through him. Robin is performing CPR, blood oozing out of Zoro’s chest with each compression and blood smearing on her chin from each rescue breath.
Nami slaps Sanji’s face.
It’s so familiar and jarringly associated with his affection for her in his head that his distraction breaks completely. The hurricane around him mutes and he can only see Nami in the eye of the storm.
“GET A FUCKING GRIP, SANJI!” She roars. “I don’t know what to do when someone’s going into shock and Chopper is busy!”

Or, post-Thriller Bark, Sanji and Zoro reckon with what happened while being so mad at each other and themselves that they might just have to kiss about it.

Zoro sets the bag on the counter and begins taking things out- a set of whetstones, a polishing cloth, oils and wax.
“What the hell.”
“Here. This one should work better- but for god’s sake soak it first. Do you have any bigger knives that need work in the meantime?”
“I know how to sharpen my own knives.”
“Not better than I do.”
OR
Sanji cares a lot about his knives. Zoro sharpens blades with deadly precision and divine focus. Neither of them can be normal about this.

Summary
Wado is different. Not only is the white sword clearly special to Zoro, but her haki signature is also the least threatening of the three. She still feels dangerous, like any powerful weapon should, but it’s a serene sort of strength—something like a still, deep body of water or Zoro’s powerful body held still in meditation.
Sanji chases that familiar sensation deep into the ocean, even as his lungs start to burn and the pressure of the water threatens to crush him from above. Wado has been with the Straw Hats even longer than Sanji has, and he refuses to let the ocean have her.
Or; Sanji dives into the water after Wado, Zoro shares a secret in the middle of the night, and something shifts irrevocably between them.

“Anyway,” Zoro continued amid Sanji’s silence, “I’m not going to die.”
Sanji made a scoffing sound. “You can’t just decide that, asshole,” he said, tying off the thread. He trailed his fingertips over the jagged seam, checking for any imperfections. “You can’t cheat death.”
“We’ll see.”
To Sanji, Zoro is an enigma. An infuriating one, but one he is drawn to nonetheless. For as much self-assurance Zoro appears to have, Sanji has about as much self-doubt. If he can just understand what goes on inside that mossy head of his, maybe he can figure a few things out about himself as well.
Discovering that there might be something other than rivalry brewing between them, is something Sanji isn't quite prepared for.

Zoro is a woman, and a strong (stubborn) one at that. She doesn't need to be protected. She doesn't need to be held back. Her life is her own to risk or give away when she pleases.
Sanji is a man, and a chivalrous (misogynistic) one at that. He disagrees.
Maybe they can learn to meet in the middle.
Probably not, though.

Zoro, who was born in the tropical East Blue, hadn't experienced a real winter before entering the Grand Line and had quickly decided that he hated everything about it.
Sanji makes up his mind to teach Zoro that the cold isn't all bad, and learns a few things about himself along the way.

Zoro huffs, shaking his head. He still hasn’t let go of the lapels, his hands now resting against Sanji’s chest. “Idiot,” he mutters. “Can’t you see I’m concerned for yours?”
Or, Sanji didn't anticipated getting separated from the others on a nameless winter island... especially not with Zoro.
