If Montreal wants to get rid of a generational player, he's not about to stop them, especially if it means he can get a little closer to joy.

There are a handful of things that Shane Hollander understands intrinsically about the world:
1) Inside is safe, and the only place that can sustain life.
2) Outside is an uninhabitable wasteland.
3a) Ilya Rozanov is a figment of his imagination, and,
3b) a very, very good lay.Ever since he hit the tail end of puberty, Shane has been indulging in sex with a man his subconscious mind invented named Ilya Rozanov. They meet every few months, fuck like animals, and Shane wakes up relaxed and looking forward to their next meeting. In his pursuit to become a Doctor of Magic, Shane has concocted a thesis which would explain how he's made up a man so perfectly attuned to his sexual desires in his own head- despite all evidence to the contrary, he believes that magic can be performed in dreams, and Ilya is the perfect evidence of that fact.
Too bad Ilya Rozanov and the Board of Doctors has other plans.
An AU in which Shane comes from a world where magic is prevalent and gives purpose to his otherwise boring life- until it doesn't.

Robin clamped his lips tight. Batman’s patience snapped. “Open,” he growled. “Now.”
“Mh-mh!” Robin kicked, but Batman hoisted him higher, one hand under Robin’s armpit, the other holding his head in place.
“You don’t want hepatitis.” Batman said, voice ticking up a notch.
Robin stopped struggling, eyes wide. Batman saw the pause, and loosened his grip - only to make Robin wind out of his grip and start running. The man with the bitten arm moaned.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” he managed, voice thick with pain and shock.
Robin deadlooped over him, baring his teeth in a wicked, blood-stained grin.
