Love is a single heartbeat followed by this warm, fast blooming feeling of domesticity. She envisions it as Galinda kisses her, that these things that bloom in her heart are flowers; Poppies, Marigolds, the Morning Glories that continuously bespeckle Shiz’s manicured lawns.

Crowley makes a strange sort of choking sound that might’ve been a laugh, or at least his best attempt at one, if all that emotion wasn’t getting in the way. “Please, I’ve loved you for six-thousand-years, I want whatever you’re willing to give me.”
And that’s the thing, isn’t it? Aziraphale wants to give Crowley all the things he hasn’t been able to in the six millennia they’ve known and cared for each other.
He takes Crowley’s face in his hands. “Everything,” he murmurs, “Crowley, I want to give you everything.”

“Everything’s going to be fine. I love you.” And the words shatter something inside. Elphaba gives her a small smile, but it's edged with sadness. She presses her lips together to hold back her grief. It’s a wild and angry thing that rattles the bars of the cage she has around it.
Elphaba leans back, arms moving to swing the doors shut and Glinda panics. She unfreezes and lets impulse take over.
Her right arm stays curled around the Grimmerie, holding it close. Tight enough to bruise. Her left hand reaches out to Elphaba’s collar, tugs hard on the black material, and surges forward.

Couldn’t help but think that they should’ve kissed during their last scene together, so I wrote it. Featuring an eventual happy ending but with some devastation first.

Elphaba’s gaze lowers, the weight of her statement pressing down on them. It wraps around Glinda’s throat and squeezes out all the air in her lungs, slowly suffocating her; it feels like barbed wire is pressing into her flesh, the horror of it all stealing her ability to speak.
“You’ve been…” Elphaba starts, her voice hoarse. She pauses, clears her throat, and starts again. “You’ve been one of the few good things in my life, Galinda.”
Glinda swallows past the blockade in her throat. “Nobody calls me that anymore,” she whispers.
Elphaba cracks a weak smile. “You will always be Galinda to me.”
Glinda’s lower lip trembles again, another wave of tears rushing into her burning eyes. Some of them escape her lashes and trace uneven paths down her cheeks, but she blinks the rest of them away.
