Derek swallows. His throat is dry, the words scraping on the way out. “I was drunk.”They land and disappear without effect.
Talia turns then, her gaze settling on him fully. It’s steady, unreadable, and it makes his shoulders tense despite himself. “You were careless,” she says. Not angry. Not loud. Certain. “You are a werewolf, and if you got drunk, you laced it with wolfsbane, you did it. Do you understand, In twenty-four years, every scandal has had the same root. You. At some point, it stops being bad luck and becomes character. And I am tired of pretending this is something that merely happens to you.” Derek nods once, reflexive.
“When you speak,” Talia continues, “you do so as a Hale. As Alpha blood. Your indulgences do not absolve you of that.”

Summary
Derek’s eyes narrow and Stiles knows he’s fucked up royally, because between one heartbeat and the next, Derek’s pinning him down with one hairy, strong arm.
He practically crawls his way up Stiles’ body, as Stiles scrambles back on the couch to get further away from him, still raising the bowl of candy above his head.
Derek, with a huff of victory finally gets level with Stiles’ face. He reaches up for the bowl again but where Derek’s strong, Stiles is gangly, and it’s still just out of Derek’s reach.
Stiles shoves Derek’s elbow out from under him and he collapses down on top of Stiles with a surprised oomph.
“Can’t get me Derek, I’m the whacky, inflatable arm waving-man,” Stiles laughs delightedly, right in Derek’s face.
Derek’s really close face. His incredibly handsome, stubbly face, a face that is inches away from his own face.
Fuck balls.

Life without parole is a guaranteed charge if a confession or incriminating speech to use in prosecution is recorded."
Derek listens to every word. He's been in trouble with the law before and it's never really bothered him before, but this is new territory. He can't get locked up because then Stiles won't have someone to scent him, or clean his wounds, or protect him against the doctors from the institute who are certainly looking for them. Christ, Stiles must be so defenseless right now. Derek has to clear this up here and now; it doesn't matter how much he’ll have to apologize to Stiles for saying every vulnerable, dehumanizing little thing they went through to his father.

Summary
A witch wants permission to live in Beacon Hills, and decides the best way to do that would be to help out the Hale Pack and McCall Pack. To kill two birds with one stone, she decides to do a favor for the human they have joint custody of.
Stiles has a Spark that has never amounted to much. He can make mountain ash work, but that's it. A witch approaches him at the diner and offers to help him with a ritual to power up his Spark and make a proper magic user out of him. After checking out her references, he decides to hear her out and brings Derek along as back up, just in case.
Before the ritual can begin at the Nemeton, something happens to Derek and he loses control of his shift. The only thing that seems to help is getting fucked by Stiles. Problem? They aren't together, and Stiles hasn't told Derek about his feelings for him.

After his father's death he receives a notice from a storage facility in some town called Beacon Hills. Stiles is confused and thinks the manager made a mistake until he finds a letter that should have been for his 18th birthday that his dad never gave him. It's from his mother, who he has no memory of. Weirdly enough, her letter mentions Beacon Hills and some woman named Talia, who he's supposed to trust. Confused and angry at his father, Stiles sets out for Beacon Hills anxious and determined to find out what his dad had been hiding from him all these years.

After a terse interaction, Derek finally speaks and the two realize they’re mates. Well, surely Stiles can still get his happy ending. Right?
