Summary
When he realizes the near-fatal stabbing wasn't enough to discourage Orihara's interference in his business, Yodogiri Jinnai decides to escalate to something beyond simple violence. Sure, he could just kill Orihara, but what fun would that be? What he wants is blackmail, something devastating enough to stop Orihara's pursuit of him dead in its tracks. Finding nothing of use, he decides his only other option is to create what he needs. And since he's well aware of the lucrative underground market for pretty young men, and how much wealthy men will pay to do whatever they want to them... why not kill a few birds with the same stone?
Izaya stumbles from the warehouse that night, bleary and disoriented, his body hurting in ways he can't bear to think about. He wants to go home; he wants to disappear from the city as easily as if he'd never existed. Maybe he would have found a way to do just that if he hadn't collapsed part-way through the journey and been discovered... by none other than Shizuo.

In Shizuo's mind, he was fabulously lucky. He just transformed for the very first time, and his fated mate was right there in front of him! All he wanted was to fulfill their destiny - and satisfy his quickly oncoming rut - by sharing a night of passion and mating with his one true love.
But from Izaya's POV? He was fairly certain that whatever the hell this creature that Shizuo had turned into wanted to kill him, eat him, or worse. He tried his best to escape, and ultimately sealed his fate by leading the beast into the safehouse he meant to take shelter in. One thing was for sure, Izaya never would have anticipated what the creature actually wanted from him.
