Summary
Unsatisfied with his post-war life, Harry decides to get to the root of all of his problems when that root was still working at Borgin and Burkes shop in the late 40s. He’s the Master of Death, damn it, he can do what he wants for once in his life.
Tom Riddle isn’t particularly happy about working at a small, dingy shop for magical artifacts, no matter how interesting those artifacts are. He’s even less happy when an insufferable stranger sets up the most obnoxious flower shop right across the street.
What follows would be a romantic comedy, if it weren’t for politics.

Summary
There was another student here.
Tom recognized him vaguely—while transfer students were not necessarily uncommon due to the war, they were rare enough to at least make an impression. This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.
It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.
Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.
This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.

Or, Hermione makes mistakes and deals with them the only way she knows how: larger, more desperate mistakes.

“Is this the sort of man you think I am?” Valjean asks, and when he leans back a little, as if to escape Javert's touch, he knows that he was right to fear. “Do you think me capable of such a thing?” Another long pause. Javert trembles silently, tries to think of something to say, but his shame drowns out all thought. “Javert... Do you wish I were capable of such a thing?”
Javert chokes back a sound of guilt. How can he explain something which deep in his heart he knows is a thing of darkness, of filth? “I know you are not.” He looks up, at last, helpless, imploring for an understanding he does not think he deserves. “I should never have asked – forgive me. I should never have told you what I imagined. To wish for you to be that man – ah, Valjean, never. Never that. My thoughts have always shamed me.”
Valjean and Javert explore one of Javert's fantasies, which in turn leads to further explorations of their history and the still awkward nature of their relationship.
