Summary
“My brother hath a child almost the exact copy of my dead daughter. You will marry her instead and be my nephew as you cannot be my son.”
The story is familiar: a happy ending to a comedic tale, where the good—including those who were simply tricked, they held no culpability after all—prevail over the wicked. The wedding comes around again and when the bride lifts her veil, it is to the shock of all that she is not a cousin but Hero, alive again. Any tears that are shed from that point on are of joy, relief, forgiveness.
That story is not this one.

Summary
Rey is a sailor on the privateer ship the Falcon, tasked by the old Republic (now called 'The Resistance') to take down or interfere with as many First Order ships as possible. Kylo Ren, Captain of the Supremacy, is a their most fierce and feared opponent. Twice the ships have met, twice the Falcon has fled, barely afloat.
On their third meeting, disaster strikes mid-skirmish, and sailors are scattered on the sea. Can Rey survive being stranded with the angry captain? Will she discover why Captain Skywalker seems to fear him so? Will she make it back to the Resistance (and did her shipmates survive as well)?
And WHY does Ren keep staring at her?

Summary
Hero admires her cousin's bravery and strength. Beatrice thinks her little cousin has strength all on her own, but Hero doesn't see it. A tumultuous affair in which Hero finds herself a lady in love, a fallen woman, and eventually dead (to her fiance) causes her to reevaluate the attributes it takes to be a real hero, and if the person a hero saves can be herself.
Possible romance elements to come, but for now this is just an exploration of Hero and how I think a soft teenage girl might feel when suddenly thrust into turmoil for the first time in her life.
