“Mmmmh, it’s not the court,” Gaon shakes his head and smiles. “It’s him.”
As if on cue, the door slides open and in strolls Chief Judge Kang Yohan.

“Do I get one?” Yohan huffs.
Gaon hides a laugh in a fake cough. Drinks his water. Elijah grudgingly deposits a fritter into Yohan’s dish. Later, he and Yohan go and interrogate a man together in a warehouse. On the ride home Gaon thinks about buying carrots, making carrot salad, a lot of it. It’ll keep well in the fridge. Maybe it was the gold bars that made him think of the color. He is probably losing his mind.

Ga On has always been known for being impulsive to the point of recklessness. But even he can admit that there are certain lines that should never be crossed, since doing so would be both impolite and disrespectful.
Excessively and inappropriately touching your boss is definitely one of those.
And yet, despite knowing that — despite being well aware of how dangerous it is to keep recklessly touching a man like Kang Yo Han — Ga On finds it difficult to stop. He knows he should, if not out of deference to his superior, then for his own sake. He can feel his self-control crumble a little more with each new touch and, in its stead, rises a confusing, breathtaking yearning he's not sure if he's ready to face — much less knows how to handle.
It feels like it's only a matter of time before his resolve shatters entirely.

Summary
Ga On isn't a jealous person. Or at least he's never considered himself to be a jealous person. And he certainly never expected to end up in a situation where he finds himself feeling possessive over Yo Han, of all people.
But, somehow, he does.
And, suddenly, all the emotions and unspeakable desires that Ga On has spent weeks ignoring begin to rise to the surface, as unstoppable as a tidal wave. It doesn't take long at all before Ga On is forced to admit that what he's feeling for his chief is neither professional nor platonic.
A revelation he is in no way ready or equipped to handle.

Summary
Believe it or not, Gaon is not an idiot.
He is naive, perhaps, in that he does not know the fine arts of stringing someone else along on puppet strings, but he is not so oblivious that he can’t feel them being pulled as he moves. Some people assume he is naive because he lets these things happen to him. He prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt, because he knows he won’t be treated as kindly without it.
People have agendas. Agendas change. That includes him.
Everyone wants something, and sometimes you need to to work together to get what you both want. That doesn’t make him oblivious.
Selfish, perhaps.
Gaon has never been good at recognizing when to stop. He pushes with questions, with actions, with words until something happens. His professor beat his motorcycle to pieces, Soohyun slapped him across the face, his parents—
Well. You get the idea.
But Gaon knows that what he wants is reckless. He’s an adrenaline junkie, perhaps he always has been. Sure, it’s certainly gotten more self-destructive over the years, but he remembers getting scolded for being so careless with his one life.
They never got it quite right, though.
