He shouldn't.. his mom would be furious if she saw Katsuki basically fucking courting Izuku right now.
He does anyway.
Katsuki smirks, "Well a good mate provides things other than food. Like soft things for the nest, or presents for their hoard,". As he mentions hoards, Katsuki remembers how he'd basically given Izuku, who loves books, a whole ass library.
A hoard...Izuku thinks, mind flashing to the new library Katsuki had basically gifted him, knowing how much he loved books.
Katsuki is not courting you, stop it, he tells himself sternly.
"It must be nice, knowing how to make your future mate happy," Izuku says, "Wish it was as easy for us humans."

“Here,” Hanta hands him a white-looking flower with green leaves on the stem.
“Oh, thank you,” he takes the flower, careful not to disrupt the petals as he lifts it to his nose, and smells its fragrant perfume. “What is this for?” Shouto looks up in time to see Hanta turn away to kneel in the flower bed again, and he swears he sees a tinge of pink on the man's cheek but he dismisses it as a flush from working in the sun.
“Ah, it’s just because. I saw it and thought of you, and thought you would like it,” Hanta smiles, seemingly finding his work more interesting now since he barely looks up at Shouto.
“I see, thank you, it’s lovely,” Shouto muses, looking back down at the flower and twirls it gently between his fingers.
Hanta finally looks up at Shouto again, a soft look of something Shouto can’t name in his eyes. “You’re welcome, Prince Shouto,”.
“Just Shouto is fine,” Shouto finds himself answering, regardless of knowing it would be improper for a worker to address Shouto so personally.
“Okay, just Shouto,”

“Both of your best friends are moving at the same time,”.
Oh. He supposes that is true. He is losing Midoriya and Kirishima is losing Bakugou.
“Maybe you guys can hang out more while we’re gone!”
Shouto pauses. He does recall thinking he and Kirishima should hang out more often at some point last night. His confidence in saying so at the time though was fueled by alcohol and currently, he found his nerves bubbling up at the idea.
“Yes maybe,” He simply says.
Todoroki Shouto has his whole carefully constructed routine disrupted when his best friend Midoriya moves to America with his mate, Bakugou.
In his absence, an old classmate manages to help fill the void left behind.
Soon, Shouto finds his whole world turned upside down as he questions his belief about love and relationships not being for him.

“You made it!” Katsuki’s smile is wide and beautiful and before Hitoshi can even say anything Katsuki is handing him the spare jersey. Hitoshi realizes that it’s Katsuki’s away jersey for games at other schools, and instantly blushes. There were a few others here wearing team members jerseys but they were all either parents or romantic partners.
“Wear this for me? For good luck?” Katsuki winks and oh god how is Hitoshi supposed to not take the jersey now?
Hitoshi swallows and nods, taking the jersey and slipping it on over his hoodie as Katsuki jogs back to the field to warm up for the game.
The jersey smells like Katsuki, spiced cologne and god the fact that it’s a little big on him makes Hitoshi’s stomach turn over on itself with butterflies.
As the game gears up to start, both teams huddling, he wonders what this means. Did Katsuki ask him here as a.. date.. thing? He would have said so though, right?

Hitoshi goes to the field to sit on the bleachers and sketch. Katsuki goes there to run and train for football. Through happenstance and forced proximity, they fall for each other. -

Each time Shouto knocked on his door, Hawks would greet him with a grin and a “What can I help you with today little hero?”.
And just like the first encounter, they would spend the afternoon together after Hawks was finished helping Shouto with whatever he needed and they would talk for a few hours.
A comfortable routine had been established and Shouto quickly found himself looking forward to his time off, so he could mosey up to the floor above him and knock on Hawks door.
He’d been planning on doing just that today, only- he had no reason to go up there today.

Shouto and Hawks end up living in the same apartment building so whenever Shouto has a problem, like not knowing how to do his own laundry or needing a taste tester for his muffins, he goes to Hawks. This leads him to a realization when one day he doesn't have a reason to go see Hawks but wants to anyway. -

Scenting is an act done exclusively by family, pack, and mates. A way to soothe each other and tell others you're either taken or part of a pack. Between two people who aren't family, pack, or mates? It can not be done platonically. At least as far as Midoriya is aware.
The first time Bakugou scented Midoriya they were four years old. It became routine for them. Something they did every time they saw each other. Until Bakugou stops one day, ignoring Midoriya with no explanation. Then it becomes routine for Midoriya to ignore the way his inner omega howls for the blond alpha who use to be his friend.
Years go by and it becomes easier and easier to disregard his omegas wishes to focus on becoming a hero. That is.. until Bakugou starts scenting him again. Now it's getting harder to push away all the questions he's had over the years. Why did the scentings start? Why did they stop? Why are they doing this at all?
