Daisy speaks of many things. Jon speaks of many things. He wonders if they’re being truthful. The Eye thinks so—but what is truthfulness? There is objective truth; factual; questions with only one answer; up is up and down is down. It is true that Daisy has killed. It is true that Jon has done far worse than kill. Is it true when he whispers I wish I hadn’t done it? Is it true when she says listen to the silence? Is it true when those words, those damnable words, come from different mouths in different contexts on different days? Is it any truer when he says to listen to the silence?

Red would say that they are cursed.
Never out loud, of course, never: to commit such a transgression would be no less than an act of treason. An act of suicide. To say such a thing aloud, releasing your words to the air, would be the same as throwing yourself off the highest spire and expecting to land perfectly fine at the bottom. To sneer at gravity is useless. Arrogant.
Hopeless.
The same is to be said about mouthing off the gods.

day 5: "oh, i'd do so many things for you"
“I thought,” Red begins, still ever casual, yet breaking his own self-imposed silence. A small victory for Ash. “That you, of all people, would pounce on the offer I made.” A short pause. He must be tilting his head, as he usually does. “Did you get hit in the head?”
Ash, for a moment, conciders telling him to fuck off. Then he considers punching Red square in the nose, hopefully breaking those stupid shades in the same moment.
He settles, instead, on a different option. Standing and, in the same motion, drawing his sword to whirl to point at Red, he orders, “Get the fuck out of my house.”
Red, sword point digging into his back, laughs the whole way out.

"You won't believe what I found," Red says, pulling the rusted barn doors shut and redoing the padlocks. In the rain, they don't have to worry too much about being quiet, but force of habit makes him flip the latches shut as silently as possible.
Ash stares at the backpack, only now truly taking note of it. "What?" he demands. "What did you find?"
A laugh, short and breathy and most of all, exhausted. "Give me a moment. I'll show you."

At least in dreams, Scott puts the ballroom to good use.
There was nothing shameful about it, really. Scott was a monster, by choice, and he was beautiful, by birth’s right, by blood, by the way he consciously carried himself because it was what he deserved. They were a monster, and they were ugly. By birth’s right. If you will.
Subconsciously, Scott wants to raise a palm to that rashing, sickness-ridden skin, but once again, his hand is gripping another instead, unable to let go. He’s not letting them go and they’re not letting him, that’s it.

Apo let out a whine, and when Pearl spun back around to face her, they were pulling at their hair, “Truffleee…”

Five times Apo and Pyro tried (and failed miserably) to hide Truffle from their friends, plus one time they didn't even bother to try.
