Summary
Dick and Jason pad away to their room, leaving Tim alone on the couch. They are quiet as they brush their teeth in their en suite. On his side of the bed, Jason smoothly pulls his shirt over his head, dropping it on the floor, and slides under the covers. Dick crawls in next to him. He’s warm.
“I think Tim’s jealous,” he sighs, throwing an arm over Jason’s middle and settling in close. Instinctively, Jason’s arm goes around him, calloused fingers skimming down his back.
“Jealous,” Jason snorts. “Of what?”
“Us.” Jason flashes him a skeptical look. “I’m serious, Jay. Ever since that thing with Bernard didn’t work out… I dunno.”
“Well, what are we supposed to do about it?” Dick doesn’t have an answer. Jason sighs and rolls over, his body blanketing Dick’s. “Timmy’s a big boy, he can figure his own shit out. He doesn’t need his brothers meddling in his life.”

Cuh sounds and guh sounds are difficult for Tim. Mommy says he'll get the hang of them if he keeps practicing though.
“That's okay, Tim,” blue man smiles again. “How old are you?”
Tim knows this one. He's been working really hard on his numbers. “Four!” He holds up four fingers. “That's this many!”

Four-year-old Tim is having a sleepover with the Waynes. He just wishes he knew when his parents were going to call.
(Meanwhile, Tim's family are trying desperately to avoid letting him know that until yesterday he was seventeen – and that his parents won't call him ever again.)

There were hundreds if not a thousand other travellers that had been put out, it was not like Bruce and Tim alone were a little uncomfortable.
Then again, those unrelenting lights alone might very well be enough to trigger a seizure, especially when exhaustion and stress that was normal when traveling factored into everything.
It had been on Tim’s insistence that they’d traveled like this to begin with, rightfully pointing out that it had been a long time since Bruce Wayne had been seen traveling for work or for pleasure. They could have instead chartered a private plane or simply used the Batplane to get to California for the conference but as it was, they were now stuck here.
Tim made a small sound and Bruce shifted a little, keeping Tim steady.
When Tim’s head dipped a little, Bruce gently readjusted him but it soon dropped down again.
“I’m right here, Lad,” Bruce mumbled.
If Tim could still hear him, he gave no sign, but Bruce spoke to his son all the same. It was always possible that Tim was either partially or fully aware of his surroundings, especially in his smaller medical episodes like this one.

“Well you seemed to like me more when I was child!” Tim bit back, he knew it was harsh. He knew it was low. He could see the exhaustion on Dick’s face and frame and he still said it.
