Stuck in a glorified loading screen, there isn't much to do. Except, apparently, everyone but Jem came prepared for this inevitability- who in the world is prepared to be stuck in the void? Where did they get the folding table from? The card decks, Jem can understand, but the *folding table*? Where do you even *hide* that? What is it even sitting on? The only thing more confusing than the premise is the game itself.
Jem is perpetually confused but this feels like it takes the cake.

Summary
Curt knows this is what they're meant to be doing, he knows that well. To be unaware of the roles they must play is to render himself willingly blind to reality. No matter how much he hates it, he does it anyway, because the only other option is to lose himself entirely. To this end, Curt is also aware that Evan is doing the same.
Except Evan isn't truly the same, Evan is enjoying this- enjoying *Jem*- when he knows full well that this is all only meant to be an act, only skin deep. It's like Evan has forgotten he has a real boyfriend, a face behind the mask. Curt may be a villain, the antagonist to Jem's unwitting protagonist, but he cannot let this slide. As the actors drift away, Curt makes his move.
It's just a shame that Curt always underestimates the lengths Evan is willing to go to.
