Summary
Sero wakes up by inches.
He’s too hot. That’s the first thing he notices. He’s soaked in sweat, and the heat pressing in on him is practically a physical thing — a humid fist clenched around his body, squeezing the air from him with every gasping breath he tries to take.
He can’t move. That’s the second thing.
A weekend mall trip becomes a fight for survival when Sero and five of his classmates are kidnapped. Sedated and restrained, they are unable to free themselves when the truck transporting them crashes, leaving them stranded inside under the midday sun. With the temperature rising and no way to call for help, they struggle against time and their own deteriorating conditions as they try to get out alive.

When summer break hits, all Shinsou wants is to stay under the radar and push himself as hard as he can in preparation for taking up Eraserhead's offer to coach him for a transfer to the hero course. The hero students are all going to some special training camp, after all - location: classified, to protect them from any further attacks by the League of Villains. The hero students aren't the only ones who showed themselves in the UA Sports Festival, however, and Shinsou doesn't have a personal pro-hero protection detail. The League of Villains picks up on that.

“I knew his face three years dead beneath a domino. I knew it as he carved a chunk of flesh from his own scalp and cursed my name…” His fingertips drift to a spot two inches behind his ear. Is that uneven texture the sign of a years-old scar, or just a tangle of hair?

Summary
Flying back to Cherry Street, weaving reckless in the dark, it comes down to this: Dick is the only one of his siblings that Jason has any real claim on. Dick is the only one of that whole mess of victims to Batman's cult of self-immolation who belongs to Jason. Even more than that - Dick is the only person in the world who he shares a parent with, who knows what it meant to be the Robin to Batman of nearly ten years ago.
It's just not the same anymore.
So if Dick fucking kicks it, Jason's the only one left. Jason becomes an only child. Jason becomes the last of his kind. Jason becomes the sole keeper of that memory, of a brotherhood shared under a man who no longer exists. There is no way to replace Dick, because the world that they lived in together is gone, and can never give Jason a surrogate.
The Red Hood pulls the thread on a mystery big enough to bridge the distance between two cities, two brothers: The plot they unravel is far deeper and darker than a garden-variety drug trafficking scheme. A story about siblingship, hauntings, and rivers.
