Summary
Mike Wheeler has never been lucky. So, when he finally finds an affordable house near campus for his last year of university—one that isn’t outrageously expensive—he briefly entertains the idea that maybe the universe has finally decided to leave him alone for once.
It hasn’t.
Because, of course, the landlord conveniently “forgot” to mention that Mike would be living right next door to a frat house.
A goddamn frat house. A loud, obnoxious, party-every-night frat house.
Yeah. The universe hates Mike Wheeler.
Or: Mike just wants his final year at university to be quiet. Normal. Uneventful. Which is, apparently, too much to ask for. Instead, the Sigma Chis move in, ruin his peace, and prove once and for all that the universe is, in fact, still out to get him.
Especially when one of the frat brothers is infuriatingly way too attractive and won’t stop existing within Mike’s line of sight—or his goddamn mind.
Mike blames the universe.
Again.

Summary
At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.

Everyone else in his life has everything figured out for them. They're all married, happy, graduated from a nice college or university. While mike is in his 30s still living with his parents...on top of feeling like a failure compared to everyone, hes still greiving with the loss of El, and his late childhood and teenhood in general. Will seems to be so independant, flamboyent, self accepting, finally proud to be who he is,thriving in his adulthood.
