The figure turned its head when it heard singing in the nearby shed. It slinked through the undergrowth, curious, tilting a head shrouded by a hood and covered with a mask. It stood, peering into a crack in the old shed’s wall and watched the fit middle-aged woman rummaging through old junk. The voice that was pouring out of the red-headed woman was soft, but strong, perfectly in key and confident. It was beautiful. And it was singing one of the Judge’s, no, the deputy’s favorite songs. The Judge felt an odd tug in her belly, felt emotions she had not felt in years.

They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

If it weren't for her sister, she would have lost them as a child, the moment she was old enough to be afraid of them.
Weiss arrives at Beacon still counting down the days to her eighteenth birthday, when she will finally get rid of them for good. It's the obvious next step. Until, that is, her team does what they do best, and makes everything a whole lot more complicated.
