Summary
In some version of the story where Loki is able to temporarily leave Yggdrasil to correct timelines that are going a little too far askew, he visits Thor during the Battle of New York. I've never posted anything on here before!! So if something doesn't look right or there's something I should add/change, please let me know. I'm new to this!

“Thor,” Loki said again, voice even. “Look at me.”If I look at you, you’ll lie your way into my head and convince me to give it over. Despite himself, Thor looked up into his brother’s eyes. They had grown up together, and Thor knew every hidden look, every last ploy in Loki’s arsenal of tricks. He could read the miniscule lines on his face and had grown a sixth sense to know the moment before Loki was about to do something foolish. So his heart skipped a beat when he searched his brother’s face and couldn’t find a sign of evil… anywhere.

When Loki tries to sabotage his own plan, the only reasonable explanation Tony can think of is that he wants to go back to Asgard, and that alone is more than enough reason to keep him on Earth. Tony reluctantly agrees to keep Loki in Stark Tower just long enough for Thor to talk to his father about how to proceed.
His visit ends up lasting much longer.

There’s someone in the kitchen. A woman, he thinks from their stature. Tony is torn between confronting them and asking Jarvis if they’re a threat, but Jarvis wouldn’t have let a threat in, so he’s at a loss. He feels it’s his only option to say, very intelligently, “Uhm,”
“Who are you?”
The woman turns, then, and Tony is immediately graced with the most beautiful, perfect face in existence. She looks like some sort of deity, and honestly, she could probably pass as Loki, if her eyes somehow happened to be— and then Tony meets her eyes and promptly has a mental breakdown.
