I’m working under the impression that everything in the show HAS happened (dw i won’t spoil the manga), but just in a modern-day-but-there’s-still-magic setting. Sorta like the setting of Jonnywarlock’s "AUbeLand" timeline.

Summary
The trio of adventurers make camp during a thunderstorm. Fern begrudgingly is the one who must comfort the party's resident cowardly warrior, Mr. Stark. Frieren finds the entire situation to be hilarious but not worth the effort to intervene between the two young adventurers' squabbling.
