Well, everyone would start with, “Well it seemed like Jason had the spot taken for good after having the audacity to try and jack the Batmobile’s tires and hit Bruce with his tire iron.” And then they’d say, “But then tiny Tim decided to try and steal the whole thing.”
Or: When Tim is 11 he figures it’s not hurting anyone if he. Ya know. Takes a picture in the Batmobile. But then the power goes to his head and all of a sudden he’s hacking the Batmobile and tearing through Gotham on a rescue mission.

After falling through a portal (read: knocked into a cra,y star portal while trying to save someone) Peter wakes up in an unfamiliar location, surrounded by unfamiliar people. But maybe all isn't lost, after all, he had nothing to leave behind and plenty to gain by starting over.

I've been obsessed with Peter in Gotham fics lately and had to write my own. This one is loosely inspired by all those others, but with a twist and some originality. Like, Peter actually not being able to thermoregulate outside of a throw away line (both cold and hot temperatures), Peter and America Chavez interacting and becoming friends, guest appearances of Dr Strange, oh, and Peter convincing everyone he is an alien, not a meta (how could that ever go wrong!) A mixture of everyone's favorite tropes with loads of pain and internal panic, and maybe just a healthy heaping of found family in the end.

“Wait kid!” And in that moment it came to him, “What if, what if we don’t forget you? What if we send you away?” Strange desperately called out.
“Mr.Strange… ” Peter had a sympathetic look in his eyes and Strange hated it. It wasn’t his life that was being destroyed, so why was Peter looking at him like the victim.
“Listen, I can send you somewhere there is no Peter Parker. There are an infinite number of universes, I can find one.” Strange said, more to himself than to Peter. And he knew this was dark magic, he knew he shouldn’t, but he didn’t care.
“I’ll send you there. Until I can fix this. Until I can bring you back.”
Or: Dr. Strange sends Peter to an alt universe where there are no Avengers, but they do have a thing called a Justice League. And sure Peter is homeless, but that doesn't stop him from being Spider-Man.

He thrashed, eyes flying open against the gritty burn, arms and legs flailing against the viscous green goo he was suspended in. Green green green. Everything was green, it seeped into his pours, tainting his skin. He tried to claw himself upwards but he didn't know which way was up. Nausea flooded his stomach, bile building in his mouth and mixing with the green. He retched into the water, sucking in more green with each gag. He arched, legs kicking out against nothing as he clawed at his throat. Darkness crept into the corners of his eyes, creeping closer and closer and Peter heaved and gasped into the green.
Everything went dark.
“No, c’mon Spider-Man, that way is up.”

Peter Parker dies on Titan, staring up at a yellow sky that he wished was blue, and then he was choking back to life in a pool of green. He doesn’t know what’s happening, but his healing factor is being weird and he doesn’t look like he did before.
The man in the Red Hood says he can help, and maybe, just maybe, Peter will let him.

So if the kid really is Dick's son, it only makes sense to bring him in, right? Peter's probably homeless, weirdly dusty, and yet strangely steadfast in his lie that his "guardian" is at home just asleep.
"He's just super tired from the trip. Passed out as soon as we got here actually. But he's at home waiting for me."
