Summary
Among the history of the world and the evolutionary process, animal-like folks started to appear, creating folktales and stories that, according to the human mind, painted them as either benevolent people or animal-like monsters.
Of course, there wasn't always a medium to all of this, but over time, and at some point in Earth's history, these animal-like folk intermingled with humans.
Leaving behind what was an individual with both human and animal DNA. As for Sakura, he ― unfortunately ― landed such a bargain with all his feline glory.
Not that Makochi minded because Makochi will never be bothered by one of their most beloved, most cherished, individuals.

Summary
sakura never really had much experience in the love department, if any, at all. so, coming to makochi and experiencing love for the first time was truly. . . a shocker. a world changer and as sakura comes to realize his feelings for furin and everyone around him. . . sakura can’t help but enjoy the feeling.
even if he can’t comprehend it fully or ever understand it completely, but that’s fine because makochi taught sakura that there are more ways for him to say ‘i love you’ without going out of his comfort zone.
or sakura expresses his love in a subtle way because furin, and makochi, as a whole, have given sakura something he can never replace. and that is a place he can return to and a place to call home.

Blinking, a pair of brown eyes looked at stark heterochromia eyes. In a strange sort of event, Nirei Akihiko, felt like he recognized those pair of eyes, like he’d seen them over and over again, but he couldn’t wrap his head around from where.
“Whatcha lookin’ at, huh?”
Nirei blinked, feeling a wave of sudden joy appears as adrenaline fueled his veins. Nirei never felt this way before, but he could chalk it up that it was due to the fact that the strangely familiar eyes were just new, and he couldn’t wait to see what would become of him.

“Hey, what’s your name?”
Heterochromia blinked, annoyance lacing in his voice, “The name’s Sakura Haruka.”

Summary
Sakura’s world was never the same when he came to Furin. It was so bright when he first entered, when he got to know the people, and it. . . it hurts. It hurts so much to know this is what he missed out on, but Sakura also hated it.
He hated how easy it is to love. . . and to be loved. Why couldn’t they hate him? Why couldn’t they not like his existence? That would’ve surely been, should’ve been, an easier – pill to swallow.
or sakura has a hard time understanding why furin likes him. why he deserves love because he was never told this, he was never wanted in the first place.
