A new supervillain is terrorising the city, draining people's soulmate connections and leaving them catatonic, in order to fuel some kind of unknown plot.
But that's totally ok, because Robert Robertson doesn't actually have a soulmate... or so he thinks.

Summary
Buck blinks hard, but the scene in front of him doesn’t change.
There’s a new soft swell to Eddie’s stomach, still small but large enough that it must take some effort to hide it under his clothes. His hand is resting there, almost cradling it, and Buck is transfixed.
He drags in a ragged breath. It could be nothing. Maybe Eddie had an abnormally large lunch, or maybe he gained a few pounds from the more sedentary work he did in El Paso. Either could be a reasonable explanation for the change in Eddie’s body.
But Buck also remembers the secret Eddie whispered to him here in this room, in the dim light of the early morning. With their bodies still tangled together, Eddie’s face had gone tight and cautious as he apologized for not telling Buck sooner that he was a carrier — information that had been largely irrelevant in his life before that moment.

Of course Eddie would realise he was in labour whilst he was alone. Chris was at school. Buck was working his last shift before he would be going on paternity leave. Eddie was alone, and had probably been in labour for a while given the pain that had been radiating in his lower back for the past few hours. But now, now the contractions were in his stomach, too. Regular. Painful.
And he was alone. Hunching over the bed, his hands gripping at the sheets as a contraction gripped at his womb, and trying to breathe through it....
Eddie gives birth to his and Buck's baby girl.

Summary
One of the main characters - the only surviving witness to a murder - has just woken from a coma. Not only is she entirely cognizant, but the first thing that the subtitles say she asks for is a lawyer.
“What are you fucking giggling about?”
The other person that’s been paying attention is Flambae. He’s right next to Robert on the couch, his arm slung over the top behind his head. One foot is propped up on the other knee, also pointing towards Robert, which has him caged in the corner by the arm rest. It’s probably some fucked-up power move. Robert has been ignoring it just to spite him.
“It’s just not how comas work,” Robert shrugs.
“Right, and you know because you’re a fucking doctor,” Flambae quips back.
“I know because I was in one, asshole.”

During a quiet night in, Robert realizes that his coma and injuries aren't common knowledge among Z-Team.
Most of them take the information in stride with jokes aplenty.
