Summary
After Angel Dust walks away from the Hazbin Hotel and back into Valentino’s control, both he and Husk begin to unravel in very different ways.
Husk, left behind at the hotel, spirals under the weight of what he didn’t do, what he couldn’t fix, and the growing belief that waiting might be the cruelest failure of all. As Angel’s sense of self fractures under control and conditioning, Husk begins to fear that saving him may require crossing the same lines that broke him in the first place.

It has been over two weeks since Angel left. Husk’s original plan was to drink himself away. Drop empty glass bottles off the edge of the mattress until eventually Angel would decide to come back. Unfortunately for him, Alastor had returned to the hotel instead. After the radio demon dragged Husk back to work and forced him to sober up, the magician decided he needs a plan to see Angel and win back his trust. Hell was once an eternity, but after Angel left every single day mattered.

Angel Dust is just going through the motions of his afterlife. But his newfound friendship with Husk is making things easier. They swap stories about their respective situations, and Angel feels some of his insecurities fade away.
But work brings them all back and Angel feels he doesn't deserve to share anything with Husk. Angel is too damaged, too broken. He's only worth being Valentino's toy.
Husk is gonna have to step in to show Angel he's so much more.

For the first time when it comes to the cheap and sex-saturated 'holiday' known as Valentine's Day Angel Dust actually cares about it. He cares about how he'll spend the day. He cares about who he wants to spend it with. The problem is finding a way to say those Three Little Words... without actually saying them. How genuine would they sound coming from the mouth of a porn star?
Meanwhile Husk has started a game of making Angel cocktails with outlandish and raunchy names whenever he comes back to the hotel, always ending in fits of laughter from both. For just a little while Angel can forget his panic. Husk always has the new drink at the ready for Angel every night, shamelessly giddy to see what drink will finally catch the spider off guard.
You don't have to search very far when they're waiting to be found. It's just a matter of hearing them when they're as silent as you are.

Husk got into the habit of greeting Angel with a drink. Something strong, not too sour, sugar on the rim, so that it could burn away the reminiscences of a rough shift and replace it with a gentler flavor on the tongue. Angel preferred fruity-based cocktails and usually ordered one right after, to accompany better the small talks and the heartfelt laughter.
Husk knew – he knew a lot about him at that juncture.
