Summary
After Alastor’s battle with Adam, his powers are left all jumbled and scattered. This leads to Alastor’s shadow leaving him and seeking Vox at Vee Tower, where he is found smoking and alone, staring off his balcony, grieving over something that had long been gone.
Alastor’s shadow is clingy towards Vox, sticking to him with every move he makes— and when Alastor arrives to Vox’s door to retrieve his shadow from him, something sparks back their old connection, a warmth neither could explain.“Very well then, explain yourself.”
“See, I have reason to believe you have a little something that belongs to me.” His tail fluttered behind him with vigor that still made him believe he was in control. But when it came to the two of them, control was a line the two were constantly jumping over. “My shadow. I would like for you to return it to me.”
“Hm, but I’m not keeping that shadow of yours captive, far from that. Your little summon came crawling to me, and it seems you’re doing the same thing now. Crawling right back to me.”
or: vox was scared alastor may have died and the two are forced to do a little ‘self reflection’

Summary
When both Alastor and Vox were friends years ago, Vox had wanted to spark something special that would redefine their relationship. Of course, Vox used less than conventional methods and the two of them are left dealing with it throughout the decades.
Alastor, somehow shocked and betrayed despite Rosie’s constant warnings and Vox, far from satisfied.“I don’t wish to be comforted about this, I just wished to have someone to talk to.” Alastor sighed before speaking again. “Do you happen to still have your box of cigarettes?”
“Uh— yeah. No, I do, why? do you want one?” Vox reached for the box in his pocket and took them out. He opened it like a sacred offering, smiling at Alastor like he had just showed him a magic trick.
Alastor laughed, tipping his head back at Vox's gesture of a grandeur opening of a simple box of cigarettes, but he laughed all the same, and it made Vox’s heart beat all the same. “I wish to share one.”
“Share?” Vox hesitated for the split of a second, biting his mouth before taking a single cigarette out. “Yes, of course.”
OR: alastor thinks he’s in control and it backfires. first (and last) time vox had control.
