Summary
Once upon a time, he didn't feel like this. Old age and having lived the life of a blacksmith, knight and now captain of the guard, has taken its toll. Henry’s body is betraying him, and it scares him. Something has made his body its home. New urges overwhelm him. It pulls at him to walk through the gate and not stop until the thing is sated.
One night, he gets up and leaves for the forest.
Hans hasn't seen Henry since he left their bed. Days are passing, with everyone none the wiser. The game master found the remains of his clothes in a clearing. Shredded, but not bloody. The mystery doesn't concern most of the city. They are more interested in the rumour about a massive white stag with golden antlers haunting the forest. Half the town is wondering what they could get if they managed to kill it. -

Summary
In an attempt to put off the wedding for just a bit longer, Hans convinces Hanush to let him and Henry travel across Bohemia, and all the way to Poland to see the sea. What should have been a joyous trip with his best friend, is instead filled with tension that neither of them know how to breach. There are experiences Hans wants to try, and places he wants to be. There are talks he needs to have with this man he has come to see as something way beyond what the mere title friend can cover. Hans doesn’t want to talk about the future, but they have to.
Where does Henry fit in in Hans' upcoming new life? Can Hans ask Henry to stay when there is nothing he can offer him? In a society where he will never be seen as anything else than others? Would it be kinder to let him find a place where someone like him could be free?
At the coast of the Baltic sea, is a village. Its seas are filled with mermaids that drag down ships that cross their waters. Yet the villagers seem awfully fine with having something so monstrous close to their home.

Summary
It’s time for the yearly big horse race, and Hans hasn't said a word about it. It should probably have been the sign that he was up to something, but Henry has been too distracted by how nice and quiet everything had been for a full month.
The trap shuts behind him when he walks into his abode and sees a brand new saddle and harness displayed on a stand, and Hans laying on his sleeping platform with a bouquet of marigold.
Henry starts to back out. Maybe if he’s slow enough about it, Hans won't lurch.
“Oh no, you are not backing out. Get back here Hal!” he yells and scrambles up to grab him before he can flee.

Summary
The first time Henry sees the horse, he nearly misses it in the rain. It’s after the attack on Pribyslavitz. Rail thin, and probably once white. Sniffing around the corpses, looking for grass that has long since been trampled into a muddy pit by the fighting.
“The horse over there. We should take it in. It won't make it like this.”
"What horse?” Henry looks down at the soldier in confusion. When he looks up again, the horse is gone.

Summary
Someone has broken into hell. Incapacitated the doll head spider. If the circumstances were different, Charles would raise a glass to the mad lads who pulled it off. But what they came for was to plunder the halls for bones and right now he is watching Edwin cower in a closet in an attempt to escape invisible hands on him. Somebody is using Edwin’s hell tempered remains and Charles is gonna track every single piece down so they leave Edwin alone.
“Get them off me– I said get them off me!” Edwin hisses. Voice breaking into a shrill whimper on the last part. He wants to rip the hand away. Throw himself out of reach. Bite them if that’s what it takes for them to leave him alone. He curls up tighter in some stupid conviction that that will make them go away.
“Edds’ I’m gonna fix it. Just—I’ll be back!” And off Charles go, leaving Edwin to his misery.

Even more so when your whole world is razed to the ground and death dogs your step. What does it mean to be a cursed creature stuck between animal and man in a world that is only getting more complicated? Is there space for someone like him? Will he be put down when he stops being useful? Thank God, Hans Capon seems as lost in the world as he is. Henry might be lost, and the forest might be dark, but he’s not alone.
