Pike huffs. “Trust me, I don’t want to be.”
“Okay, then, why? How do you know… Lily?”
A beat. Then, “You’re Lily.”
Protectiveness rears its ugly head. Severely, Ilya declares, “This is none of your fucking concern.”
“He’s asking for you.”
OR: when Shane gets hurt on the ice, Hayden Pike reaches out to Boston Lily.

Summary
Ever since Shane left Ilya's hotel room in Vegas, his anxiety has spiralled out of control. He's got these habits and quirks that he just needs to do and they're taking over his life. He knows he needs help but that would mean admitting that Ilya has an awful hold over his life and Shane CANNOT do that.
But after a tough loss against Boston, and Ilya noticing that something is wrong, does he have the power to help Shane confront his problems and right his own wrongs?
Or: Shane has OCD, Ilya just wants to hold him so that's exactly what he does.

In the MAC-Z, hell unleashes itself on earth. As Demogorgons swarm the facility, the military attempts to fight them with a flamethrower; much to Will's demise, who is forced to endure the sensation of being burned alive due to his connection to the hive mind. Since Will and Joyce are both preoccupied with his tremendous suffering, Mike has taken on the responsibility of being the children's protector and is determined to get them to hell out of there, no matter the cost.
However, he does not anticipate himself becoming Vecna's target this time, nor the torment he will be put through as a consequence, as Vecna forces him to confront the very memories that hold not only the heaviest emotional weight, but also his deepest regrets.

“Jeez, you really are sick.” Will muttered and Mike choked out a laugh.
“‘S just my luck.” He murmured, ignoring the way his head spun when he lifted it from the toilet seat.
Even under the harsh white light of the bathroom, Will still looked good, his honey brown eyes furrowed in concern and lips slightly parted. He was beautiful, and Mike wanted to bite him.
He recoiled a bit at the thought but now that he had thought it, it wouldn't go away. He could imagine it, digging his teeth into Will’s wrist, blood beading from the teeth marks faster than he could lick it up. The rushing in his ears got louder, twin heartbeats thudding in his ears and Mike turned to heave into the toilet again, not even bothering to stop the sobs that were ripping through him.

“Are you okay?” Will questions. Mike’s voice was just so… bland. Mike’s never sounded like this, not to Will.
“Yeah, I’m fine, I just wanted to talk,” Mike answers.
“Do you want me to come over?” Will asks. Something was wrong with Mike, because why else would he be speaking in such an emotionless way?
Mike sucks in a breath, but somehow it still sounded bored. “No, I think it’s best if you don’t,” He mutters. Will frowns. “I just called because.. I just can’t do this anymore. I want to break up with you.”

Honestly — what was Mike expecting? That the past month didn’t happen? That they aren’t being weird again? The end of a literal apocalypse did more harm to their friendship than good, apparently, and it’s not something either of them can ignore.
