He cleared his throat and met her eyes. “You still up for trying this, Shepard?” he asked, shifting his weight back and forth against the console as nerves suddenly prickled underneath his hide.
Even with all the tension she held in her frame, she seemed to ease a little. A smile turned up the corner of her mouth as she nodded. “Come up to my quarters a few minutes after you hear Joker give the message we’re leaving,” she said, her voice taking a mildly suggestive tone.
He felt his heart race in anticipation. Standing up to his full height, he nodded in earnest. “I’ll be there.”

I grab a fistful of his shirt and pull him forward so he meets my eyes. The fact that I was able to do that with little to no resistance or even reaction from him sends another wave of concern laced with anger through me. “Knock this shit off, Garrus.”
That gets his attention. His eyes widen and focus on me immediately at the use of his name. “You think Shepard would want you locked up in your apartment wasting away?”
I watch as he narrows his eyes and flares his mandibles out wide, baring sharp, pointed teeth at me. It’s meant as a warning. I take it as an invitation.
Anger. I can work with that.
