Behind the clear glass, a spider peers up at him. Its black base is run through with purple streaks, markings that glow a soft lilac. It’s a spider.

Summary
Mika was a sight, gliding through the water. Of course, Freminet knew this when he was watching him, but it was different up close. He was slim, not containing the specific muscle build that a diver like Freminet had, lean, with long legs despite his stature. He was almost doe-like.
He pretended the chill of the water was to blame for his blush. Mika didn’t notice after all.
He probably should have taken the direct path back up to the city, but something in Freminet had him taking Mika through the scenic paths, past the sea otters and the titalgia, the kelp and the spirit creatures.

“Who was that?” Lyney asked, grinning.
“Nobody.” Freminet answered, too quickly. Immediately he regretted it—Mika obviously was somebody. He should have just said he was someone who got lost, now his siblings were at full attention. “Well—I mean. I met him in the bay. He’s not from around here.”

Or, Freminet meets Mika for the first time, and impulsively accepts a commission to help the cute boy map an underwater cave.

Summary
Rosaria wasn’t the most talkative, but something about the pure exhaustion weighing on this little girl made her pause, trying to find the right words. Perhaps it was the alcohol, making her particularly empathetic that night. Perhaps it was the fact she was coming down from the high of a kill.
Perhaps she just recognized the look in her eyes.
“Well, what’s got the weight of the world on your shoulders?”
“Heh?” Diona looked at her like she was crazy.
“You look exhausted.”
“Ugh, I am.” Diona groaned, “Long shift, and then after all that I gotta go home and make sure dads in bed, and then if he’s not I gotta come all the way back and check Angels Share and—and—ughhh.”
“Hm.” Rosaria replied. “I’m surprised he doesn’t go to The Cats Tail.”
“Ugh. He says he doesn’t cause—cause he doesn’t want me to watch him drink! Like! I already see him drink when he comes home! I don’t need to worry about him more when he’s drinking where I can’t watch him.”
“He’s not your responsibility, you know.”

On your wrist is a meter of how dangerous your soulmate is which is shown by color and is relative to your own strength. So if you’re strong and your soulmate is weaker compared to you it would show that they aren’t dangerous. Pale green is the least dangerous and dark red is the most dangerous. Underneath the meter is a phrase saying how dangerous your soulmate is. Saiki’s says that his soulmate isn’t a threat. Saiko’s says that his is catastrophically dangerous.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.

“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
