She occasionally exchanged a few words with some, while they stared at her lips obsessively, thinking that would somehow make her want to kiss them. It never happened, by the way.
She'd dated a few guys over the years, usually the ones not completely obsessed with her, and they always acted too polite, scared perhaps that a wrong move would ruin their reputation. But as soon as someone tried to take things further, she broke up with them. No explanations.

Summary
In the aftermath, Lottie had wondered if Nat would just cut and run. Ghost everyone and drop off the face of the earth rather than willingly stay anywhere near Lottie’s orbit. Lottie’s the one who walked away, after all, and they share too many of the same friends and bars and cafés to allow for a clean and easy separation. She wouldn’t blame Nat for doing so.
