He has watched civilizations rise and crumble like sandcastles abandoned by impatient gods. He has kissed emperors with ash still cooling in their mouths. He has forgotten entire dialects of love.
But this one—
Tartaglia. The Eleventh Harbinger. Fatui dog. That insufferable ginger menace who insists on calling him “xiansheng” while disarming hilichurls with a grin that belongs on wanted posters and in back-alley sonnets.
This one, Zhongli decides, is worth the return of rituals.

Summary
Durin has learnt a lot about "courting" and "romance" from observing humans. He still doesn't really understand much, but according to his observations, he definitely thinks there's something "going on" between Albedo and Wanderer. Durin decides it's up to him to do something about it, and begins his great undertaking of a certain task he's heard of: the art of "match making".
Albedo was speechless for a moment before finally speaking up. “Durin,” he asked nicely, “just how many people did you ask about this?”
Wanderer watched with apprehension as Durin mentally counted on his fingers, distinctly feeling the physical sensation of a rock dropping into his stomach, as Durin’s two hands ran out of fingers and he had to start fresh on his left hand once again.
“You know what? Don’t answer that. Don’t answer that question.” Wanderer snapped.

But what he could not—would not—refused to endure any longer was this: the audacity, the blasphemy, the absolute Geo-infused gall of one Zhongli, former God of Contracts, not realizing they were dating.
They had shared tea. Multiple times.
They had shared a hot pot meal. One that Childe had cooked with his own two battle-scarred hands. (Sure, Zhongli spent most of the time politely explaining Liyue’s ancient cutlery customs while Childe accidentally set a napkin on fire, but that was domestic as hell, right?)
They had gone shopping together. Okay, yes, Zhongli picked out everything and Childe paid for all of it. But that’s just what boyfriends do. Everyone knows you’re not officially in love until your partner spends your entire life savings on gilded tea trays and ceremonial funeral bells.
It was textbook romance. Except one small issue.
Zhongli. Had. Not. Gotten. The. Memo.
Or, Zhongli is a 6,000-year-old oblivious romantic, and Childe is a war criminal with feelings.

“My name is Al-Haitham,” the man—Al-Haitham, apparently—says, and Kaveh looks at him, looks at the chest that he vaguely recognized, turns to look at the counters that he now pinpoints from motherfucking YouTube, and fully lets his jaw drop again with no regard for propriety.
Fuck first impressions. It seems that they’ve already had theirs.
“No the fuck you aren’t,” Kaveh says.
Kaveh moves into the house of his archnemesis. And then he bakes for him, as one does for their mortal enemy that they definitely don't have a crush on.

Kaveh turns to Al-Haitham then, and part of him visibly softens at the sight. "Well, maybe part of it is love," he concedes. "I'm in love with you, Al-Haitham, did you know that?"
Al-Haitham, despite himself, smiles. It makes Kaveh's eyes widen. "I do know that, Kaveh. You told me a few nights ago, do you remember?"
"I think so."
"Good. Then you should remember that I told you to tell me that when you're sober, and maybe then I'll say it back."
Kaveh squints at him. "'Maybe?' What do you mean by 'maybe?' I have changed my mind. You are a bastard, and I am not in love with you."
There is no winning with Kaveh. But maybe, there is no losing either.
In which Kaveh keeps drunkenly confessing to Al-Haitham.
