Jamie hesitates. He realizes that he’d never actually considered the possibility of being unforgiven, that it must’ve meant he fucked up and would have to try another way.
“Then…I did it wrong…?”

Following the Cats' betrayal at the Witcher Tournament, the witcher schools, realizing that King Radowit II's plot was just the tip of the spear, unite to create a Witcher Nation. All the schools except the Cats, that is. The Cats, having participated in the massacre of another school, are exiled and banned from this new nation.
The witchers isolate themselves in the northern kingdom of Kaedwen, leaving the Cat witchers and humanity to each other for almost a century. Then a bard steals the King of Renedia's pet and smuggles it into Kaedwen.

And his very first steps towards trying to fix it all - reaching out to the High Warlock they'd all managed to use for help somehow without paying him - ends with a whole lot more trouble than Clary could've ever brought him.
Alec goes on a journey that starts with pain and ends with a strange bond he never wanted, a husband he never thought he could have, and the chance to finally affect some real changes in the Shadow World.
That is, if they can all survive long enough to see it happen.
