“I uh... yes.” Miles said after a moment. Saying no might get him kicked out overnight and that was not happening. Apollo and Athena looked to each other but didn’t say anything.
“Well, you and your daughter are welcome to sleep in the extra bed.” The Doctor motioned to the spare patient's bed in the room. “Mr. Wright will have to stay here for about a week. But we can talk about that in the morning. Get some rest. As for you two, visiting hours are over... But I can look the other way as long as you don’t spend the night.” He smiled “Have a good night-” He looked to Miles “Mr. Wright.” and he left them be.

In the year following the end of the Dark Age of the Law, Phoenix goes on chasing truth and justice by accusing extremely shady witnesses of murder. There's no way there would ever be consequences for that, right? No risk in pissing off actual honest to god murderers! Not in this courthouse, where APPARENTLY they don't screen people for weapons before putting them on the stand.
Or: Everything is fine, until it isn't.
Edgeworth POV. There are consequences, and they deal with them. December has never been a good time, for them. Wrightworth not yet established, but only by a hair.

Summary
What starts as pillow talk between Franziska and Maya turns into an argument when Phoenix and Miles's relationship is brought up.
Maya is convinced that Edgeworth is too emotionally constipated to realise Phoenix has feelings for him. Meanwhile, Franziska believes it to be Phoenix's lack of reciprocation and understanding of complex emotions preventing a relationship.
Determined to prove the other wrong, Franziska and Maya drag Phoenix and Miles on outings they believe will confirm their respective opinions. The chaos that ensues provides evidence neither had taken into account.

All of the windows were shattered, scattering broken glass around the scene, and a deflated airbag that had made its way through the windshield flew up and down in the wind like a vengeful ghost. The smell of smoke was drifting faintly around the car, but it had mostly cleared up, which was both a relief and a terrifying indication that the car had, in fact, been there since the earthquake.'
