Damnation.” She sat back, then said, “Ooh, Goëlar,” and sat forwards again. “You have the set! And well-read, we dare say, how impressive…”
The woman's mind was like a scanning bird of prey, Csevet thought exhaustedly as she tottered out of the chair to look at his bookshelf. Pinned one topic and only let it go when it was in its death throes, then leapt instantly off to murder another.(csevet and csethiro have three main things in common: pakh'palar, popular literature, and purpose. not necessarily in that order.)

Summary
There were only a few things Idra knew about the Great Avar. He was, of course, related to Idra through his father's line; a younger brother of Nemolis Drazhar, born to the scorned, unfortunate Chenelo Zhasan. That was the source of his claim to the Barizheise throne: he was the grandson of the previous Great Avar, Maru Sevrasched. He knew that his half-uncle took as his standard a prancing lion known as the Corat' Anmeir, Cruelty of the Sun, in partial tribute to his grandfather's Corat' Arhos.
It also might have been a nod to his Drazhadeise blood, which would have been bold if that was truly the intention, given that he had been disowned at fourteen.
(Or: In the fifth year of the reign of the Emperor Edrenechibel IX, the Great Avar Maia Sevraseched came to the Ethuveraz for a state visit.)

“For all we know, the perpetrator invented this little trap just for us,” Shen Qinqiu says, tapping his fan dangerously. “Tailormade to ruin us.”
“I have no secrets to hide,” Liu Qingge says, and lifts his chin challengingly at Shen Qingqiu, who bristles in return. “Do you?”
“Ah, Liu-shidi, if you don’t have any secrets then you should get some real quick!” Shang Qinghua says with bright, manic cheer, his smile and his eyes a little too wide. “The consequences for not meeting the curse’s requirements would be very very bad!”

There were two young Finwëan men named after stars living with Círdan at the end of the First Age. One of them, Eӓrendil, abruptly disappeared, his fate known only in legends. Around the same time, the other, Gil-galad, abruptly *appeared*, his origins shrouded in myth.
But like they say of Superman comics… there’s no way Clark Kent could be Superman. We all know where Superman lives—what would he be doing running around in disguise? That’s ridiculous, right?
Right?
