Asmodeus freezes. It’s the way Fizzarolli says the last part, like it’s a fact, a conviction— Like it’s something he’s proved true to himself, and it’s not just some wild idea his messy brain has jumped to in these last few months. "This is what works,” takes on a different light Oz would really rather it not.
Asmodeus loves Fizzarolli more than anything, enjoys seeing him have so much fun getting dolled up for Blitzø, but finally there’s an outfit that worries him enough to ask what’s going on in Fizz’s head.

Summary
Blitzo finds replacements for most of the things he’s missing. He learns to fall asleep to the sound of car honks and people yelling. He doesn’t think about the horses, or his family, or Fizz, because he doesn’t deserve to. But he can’t find a replacement for the feeling of skin on skin.
It’s liveable but just barely. The itch sits just under the surface, waiting to prickle up any time he gets even a little bit close to another person, egging him on to try and relieve himself somehow. Just a handhold, a brush of someone’s fingers over his spines, anything that could be even the palest imitation of the physical contact he’s missing.
or 5 times Blitz tries and fails to help his touch starvation issues, and the 1 time someone does it for him.

Ozzie rolls his eyes. “Haven’t you ever heard of having fun, Stolas?”
Stolas crosses his arms. “I have fun!” he insists, and Ozzie sighs again.
“Stolas, when was the last time you were laid?”
“That’s none of your-”
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Asmodeus interrupts, heading for the door, “I’m just saying, instead of pining after a man who wants nothing to do with you, maybe you should pine after someone who will pine back?” He pauses in the doorway, tapping a finger to his chin. “Or, like, at least get on Grindr,” he says, and Stolas almost throws a stapler at him.
“Get out, Ozzie!” he says, but Asmodeus is already gone, his laughter trailing down the hallway.

Stolas is the Dean of Wrath University, a prestigious scholar and librarian, and a monumental fucking failure. In his opinion, at least.Blitzo is the best History Professor at the school. In his opinion, at least.
They haven't had a real conversation in years. But after an accidental one night stand, that changes.

It was a dull lavender colour this time of night, rather than the piss-yellow Landlord Special it was by daylight. It made it almost bearable to look at.
Every so often his eyes flickered to the outfit he’d picked out for tomorrow. Cherri had face timed, demanding he go through his choices with her and lay it out the night before. Normally, he’d be ecstatic for their pre-date routine, but this time it was a burden, a hassle, a nightmare.
This time it wasn’t a fun pre-date ritual, because this date wasn’t a date. It was a fucking job interview.
