Poseidon often wonders why out of all the mortals in the world, Polites would chose the false-righteous king of Ithaca, Odysseus. That makes torturing Odysseus so much more difficult. Oh well- Poseidon can be creative.
Polites survives the Cyclops attacks, and is there for all the disasters which happens later. What happens next reveals so much more than just their fates. Time has been unlocked, and the past and future flow free as our heroes fight the King of Tides and their own mortal vices to get home to their beloved Ithaca. Along the way, their pasts will be revealed, and the truth unknown to even the Gods themselves will be revealed.

Izuku made a promise to himself in this moment. He wouldn't promise impossible things like peace, but he'd promise hope.
He'd help the helpless. Quirklessness be damned. If he survived this- When he survived this, he wouldn't let anyone he came across be hopeless like he was. He wouldn't give out false hope either, but instead he'd give people a reason to hope.
He would make a difference in this world, he would rise to the top.
He would prove them all, he would win.
He would bring people to justice, he would be victorious.
As long as he had hope.

When All Might leaves Izuku alone on a rooftop, Izuku makes a stupid decision influenced by the words of his ex-best friend, 'why don't you take a swan dive off the roof of a building and pray for a quirk in your next life'.
So he does. He jumps off of a building and does indeed get a quirk in his next life.
And with it, he'll rise to the top, inspiring people, saving them and giving them a reason to hope.
