Summary
Lein, a half-Skaal half Nord, is made thane of Markarth and acquires Vlindrel Hall, and a housecarl. Argis has had a tough start in life, but things have been looking up since he joined the Markarth Guard, and then the Jarl's Guard. Then he is assigned to Lein, a white-haired, 5'7" mage with mismatching eyes and a propensity for nearly getting killed. Lein feels an immediate attraction to the huge, half-blind housecarl, but has no idea if Argis is even into men. Journeying from Markarth to Windstad Manor for Valdimar's upcoming wedding, the two forge a friendship that begins to blossom into something else as time passes and they make their tracks in the snow.

It was borderline pathetic how desperately he drank in whatever attention Gale would give him. Despite knowing this, it didn’t stop Tav from doing it regardless.
Barbarian or not, Tav desperately wanted some of the softness that came from Gale’s intelligence and refinement.
He only wished that everyone at camp wasn't so aware of it. Everyone but Gale, that is.
