“I dunno…” Stelle yawns, clearly unaffected by his or anyone else’s opinion. “The snow was soft, and I got sleepy.”
He hears a click at his side and turns to glare.
“What? It was a perfect opportunity for a picture!” March says, camera out unashamedly, though she slowly hides her face behind it the longer he stares. “C’mon, it’s a memory, let me have this…"
And so— perhaps predictably, he can't say he didn't see this coming at this point— it becomes less of a Belobog scenery trip and more of a ‘where is Stelle sleeping today’ trip.

And Wanderer wonders if it's sad that he has to think over the question.
He isn't unhappy, really— he can’t think of any reason to be in his current situation with a new source of power, frustrations over the past aside. He’s just… alive. Just the same prisoner to fate he started as, if objectively less miserable than during his time with the Fatui.
“I don’t know,” he says after a moment that’s much too long; long enough to be an answer of its own. Even still, Lesser Lord Kusanali waits to hear what he has to say. “I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve been for a long while.”
“Well,” she says slowly, "I’d like it if you could be."

Cora-san cries and cries and cries that Law is too young.
And Law cries too, in a way he cannot explain. In a way that is not Flevance and mourning, and in a way that is not quite hospitals and hurting.
In a way that— there is something to live for, maybe.
Law had survived, he realized at that moment then and there. Up until that point, he just had not been living.

It's a gradual but certain realization, that the words and letters of the story he loves so much— of the story that helped him live until this point— were going to kill him, too.
And what a stupid way to go, he thinks. Of all things, for loving a story too much.
(Even as the years pass by, petals and leaves have collected between the pages of his books, serving as bookmarks for pages he's reread time and time again. The petals get bigger as he flips from front to back.
He doesn't dare trample on this proof of his love, even as it kills him.)

It was only when she passed her gate, and locked eyes with Kris down the street – eyes that, unlike recently, were suddenly full of purpose, like a vulture selecting a singular rabbit to prey upon – that Noelle regretted going outside.--

Summary

These foreboding feelings are only made worse when he meets a strange man at a history museum, visiting the same exhibit as him: one dedicated to the gods and adepti of years long past. The sense of familiarity he feels from the stranger leads him to seek out the meaning behind his dreams and the secrets hidden beneath them.
